      I said it before...

Vitali's 2 round destruction of Kirk Johnson...

Was better than ANY achievement on Chris's resume.

I like Chris, but this is a hard truth.

Especially considering Foreman win was under strange circumstances, the Liston affairs were hotly debatable, the Frazier trilogy was even at best for Ali, as was the Spinks affair and he never in fact beat Norton at all.

And yet Vitali dominantly dispatched all of his opponents without hardly losing a round.

So much for your worthless opinion again!
congratulations you may be the biggest r*tard on boxingscene ... and considering the competition that's quite an achievement

            Hmmm let's see...

Strong, skilful opponents with great resumes. Against weak, punch bag opponents who regularly fought dudes Vitali would not even be allowed to KO.

            Hmmm.

There are only 2 resumes which can be considered more worthwhile than Vitali's in HW boxing.

That is those of Wladimir Klitschko and Lennox Lewis.

All others are significantly less quality.

                Please show me?

                Myth exposed.

The Vitali resume is among the greatest of resumes in HW boxing. That is a fact. And it's a no brainer too.

You cannot even compare pre80's resumes to Vitali's anyhow because Vitali would never be allowed to stage title defences against such small and bummy opposition as those older champs had.

Time for nut bags to get real I think.

Just had to drop this in after reading various comments on the subject....

The WBO is a joke. It is illegitimate, has been since its inception when a fighter by the name of Francesco Damian had the audacity to call/himself "world champion" while Mike Tyson had finally unified the division. You don't get any less legitimate than that.

It and the IBO are bastard sons of lesser sires.

The ONLY way you can be the World Heavyweight Champion is to defeat THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, or be the winner of a Number 1 vs Number 2 showdown in the wake of said champion's retirement.

Just because you have a belt does not make you the damn champ. It means you are an employee and representative of the organization who owns that belt....and an underachiever/settler, father than going after the real champ.

                    Geezus.

The IBO is a minor belt so it's understandable not to include this champ specifically as a true champ. However the IBO is an organisation designed to identify who the REAL champ is amongst corruption and multiple title holders. Since it the real champ will atleast hold 1 major belt, it is always tied up with one of them anyway.

The WBO since its inception has ALWAYS been considered one of the 4 major belts. Yes it took awhile to take hold properly, something like 10 years. But if you were WBO HW champion.. You were and always will be, a HW champ by definition.

Sorry but that was how it was defined! Any boxer like Tyson who wanted to dispute the legitimacy of the WBO title holders claim was free to fight them for it.

The Klitschko's WBO title defences/shots all cumulatively count on their tally. And it's almost too ****** to mention, but winning and then defending multiple belts is HARDER than doing the same for less or a single belt. Obviously!
