Whilst I think it was a bad idea for Froch to even mention interest in a Hopkins fight, for him to talk with his promoter and then go the other way isn't a real duck IMO. I like both fighters, but the more exciting fight will be Froch vs Jr, in Vegas. Take a few moments to let that sink in. Forget the 'He said this, then he said that' argument vs BHop. Forget BHop is a threat, at 50, to anyone besides Kovalev. Think it through, into the future. You will almost certainly fall asleep or be pizzed watching the boring Froch/BHop snoozer. And, like BHop eluded, yes he will be headbutting and doing other fouls all night. It's how he fights, how he's lasted til 50. I think the biggest mistake for Froch was even mentioning it. That was not a bright move at all. A Froch win vs BHop is all but a 100% guarantee. But even a win means an ugly fight, an old man getting more beat up, and fans saying he took a last fight with an old guy who just lost. I can understand BHop getting mad at losing probably his biggest payday at this stage. Ideally, in a perfect world, BHop should be on the Froch/Jr card schooling Stevenson. THEN Froch fights BHop if he wins. Not a scenario that likely happens, but still a good series of fights for the fans.

Oh well *** me. A prize fighter wants pay days. What a novel concept.
Why are they talking about doing it at the City Ground then dummy?
When was the last time Hopkins even fought in Vegas? They don't want to see his decrepit arse thereComment

Dirk with the Ether.
Even if they wanted it in Vegas (they don't) it's not PPV anyway.Comment

How is Froch-Hopkins even a legitimate fight?
What is the point in it? Except to appease some Borehard fanboys who want to see the old man get an undeserved title shot and payday.Comment

I posed the same question a page back.
Hopkins in his last 6 fights is 3-3 (if you include him quitting against Dawson as a loss)
Not only is he 3-3, he got absolutely dominated and almost killed in his last fight by way of 12-0 schooling.
Not only that, he brings nothing to the table from a financial standpoint.
So who in hell wants to see that?Comment

But he is so blatantly obvious about it. All fighters want paydays, but at least they keep up the appearance that they still want to fight the best.
What excites him is a venue and a guy who isn't even world class - just because of his name (I.e. Chavez Jr) and the fact that anyone can beat him.
Luckily for him, he is at least admitting that he wants to retire soon. If an active fighter said what Froch said, he would be lambasted and never taken serious again.Comment
