Why Dont You Like GGG? What Has He Done? or Not Done?

I like Golovkin in his interviews he seems like a good respectful guy he's funny aswell I'm just not a fan of him as a fighter.you're one of the very few, trust me. same thing with dan cov. you guys actually know boxing, so if you don't like ggg, that's fine, i disagree with you but i respect your opinion.
what pisses me off is these transparent, hypocritical ****ers who criticize in every thread.
again, pathetic.
I suppose there are people out their with agendas.
I just don't understand this notion that you have to find a guy entertaining. Entertainment is subjective. People like different things.
Some people don't like Tyson, they don't find his fights entertaining. Some love Tyson because he's aggressive and knocks guys out but not everyone's into that though.
I'm a fan of Wladimir Klitschko, I enjoy his fights (would like abit less clinching) but I had throughly enjoyed his career. That's just me, I like he way he systemically breaks guys down behind the jab and mentally and physically renders his opponents useless. Many others think that's boring, that's their opinion.
Same way I'm not a fan of Brandon Rios, I don't find him entertaining to watch but many do.
On the flipside I love Froch despite his lack of skill and technical ability.
Love watching guys like Salido and K.Martinez and I'm a fan of those.
Then also don't really like Rigondeaux who's a technical genius and defensive master but I'm a huge fan of Mayweather for the same reasons.
Point is, it's entirely subjective what someone likes to watch in a fighter.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 02-08-2015, 06:31 AM.Comment

I like GGG, I think one of the reasons some don't like him is because he is the real deal, or at least seems to be it, some people don't like that in some fighters.
People can say what they want about him, he is actually a really good fighter, he just hasn't had that fight that propels him to the next level. Also his interviews are more often than not quite funny, he seems a nice guy too.
I dont know why people would dislike him other than to provide a constructed foundation for their denial that he is potentially a great fighter.Comment

Well that's absolute nonsense. I'm white and I find him boring. He has power but that's it. He doesn't land any "Pretty" or "Hollywood" punches like a Canelo does. He is very effective, I'll give him that. But Daniel Geale as your best win means absolutely nothing.
I always liken him to a 140 Miguel Cotto who was the boogeyman for a while.
Does he look as impressive as Cotto did? God no, Cotto's body shots mixed with beautiful boxing had people like Larry Merchant calling Cotto "the most complete fighter I've seen" this was obviously a bit premature but my point stands.
Has he fought the same level of fighters? Bailey( He hasn't fought anyone with this type of power) , Torres, Corley and Paulie M? No he hasn't fought anyone on this level.
Is he looking to move up like Cotto to challenge himself? No, he's calling out smaller fighters and even not responding to some when he's called out (Lara)
Has he shown the same type of versatility? Nope, fights the same style every fight.
So he's proved less than a 140 Miguel Cotto.
So there you go, race doesn't come into itComment

Brilliant post. Just like me, I love Floyd and Rigo but Ward is like watching paint dry. GGG just doesn't land clean, flashy punches. I am a fan of speed, GGG just doesn't have any. People go on as if he's MAB, which he very much isn't in terms of skill or excitement.I like Golovkin in his interviews he seems like a good respectful guy he's funny aswell I'm just not a fan of him as a fighter.

If you're thinking about NSB, there's a collection of posters who seem to naturally resent foreign born fighters for whatever reason.
But in general I can understand people resenting Golovkin for being overhyped given who he's fought. The HBO hype machine has really gone to work with him over the last year or so.Comment

No, that's how YOU think. That's why you don't want the Ward fight. I'd love to see Cotto try his luck against GGG. Canelo? I'm not really a fan but It's be a great fight so bring it on.so is floyd mayweather (ggg called hm out, right?).
you don't like ggg cuz he's a threat to your boy, canelo. just like 99% of ggg haters. they know golovkin is the real deal, they know he'd smash their favourites (canelo, cotto, maybe even ward) but they won't acknowledge it. but deep down, they know, and it scares the **** out of them.
pathetic if you ask me.
What about Lara? He's called out GGG many times. GGG would "splatter" him no? Then why hasn't the fight been made? I mean if it's so hard to find opponents and he wants Floyd's 154 title, why didn't he go after Lara who was actually calling him out?Comment
