Darroll Wilson has made two HBO appearances.
He KO'd Briggs, & that was brought back later that year to fight Tua. Tua hit him with about a 6" left hook & knocked him cold.

I'm pretty sure that was it for Wilson on HBO. He fought on USA's Tuesday Night fights against Courage Tshabalala (nice come-from-behind KO), & against Terrence Lewis (Wilson was KO'd).

He was a pretty decent fighter, though small for a heavyweight.
He survived Briggs' opening fury, stuck some jabs into Shannon's face, after standing tall, & completely took the fight outta Briggs.....who folded shortly after.

Wilson-Briggs was one of the all-time "exposures" I've ever seen, & one that keeps me from believing that Shannon Briggs was anything special.

Before that fight, I was telling everyone who would listen that Wlad was going to outbox him and got called nuts for it. Briggs, to me, just is one of those guys that always falls a hair short and, at this stage of his career, I can't see him beating a younger, hungrier kid. 'Course, I've been wrong before.
Dont you remeber David Izon?? Or how bout Fiday Ahunanya?? Peter falls in the same catagory as those wash outs.

If memory serve me correctly, Briggs blamed the Wilson loss on an asthmatic condidtiion. Teddy Atlas left him because he felt it was Shannon making excuses for a "ticker problem".

Like I said, you may be right. With me, it's not so much overhyping Peter as much as it is cutting through the crap about Briggs. Also, remember Izon, for all of his short comings, beat a couple of fighters favored to beat him by coming from behind; he had more mental toughness than Savarese and Jefferson....and Peter hits a helluva lot harder than Izon did. If Peter has Izon's mental toughness, which I suspect he does, Briggs is in trouble, should they meet.

                  Peter can be outboxed....
Briggs has never given me the impression that he's much of a technician.

Should be interesting to see what happens when they stand & trade. Briggs doesn't possess Peter's heavy-handed power, or his chin. But, he's more explosive....

We will see if Peter's management answeres the call of Shannon The Cannon.

I think it's a good fight and one that needs to be made. Briggs is exactly the kind of opponent Peter needs to face, Klitshko was too soon for him.

Likewise, Peter is exactly the type of opponent Briggs needs to face to show he deserves to be back in the mix.

Both men need this fight IMO.
