And when he does get a chance with those others he will lose.

why wont peters give briggs a shot? if peters beats briggs, it would be a great name on his resume.

Actually that fight won't happen. Briggs has one more fight coming in May against Chris Koval, then he will fight wither the winner of Klitschko/Byrd, or more likely the winner of Maskaev/Rahman. Right now Peter is getting no love in the boxing community. If for some reason Arum or King backs out of their deals for Shannon to fight a title shot, then maybe at the end of they year we'll see Peter/Briggs. I do find it unlikely though.

It's nice to see that Briggs has regained his focus and is trying to become a champion again.I don't think that he will become a champion but he could become a top 10 contender and get an oppurtunity to fight for a championship which isn't bad at this point in his career.

I'm sorry but Briggs has gotta do a lot more than talk to get my respect here. The guy has talent but seems like he is either lazy or just not focused every time he steps up to the contender level. It takes years to become a champion, and even with this much diluted division, the guy is gonna have to train like an animal for a long time to get the stamina to go the 12 rounds in a title fight, or else a lot of these guys will just outlast him 'till he gets frustrated and walks away from boxing again. I mean I like Briggs and all and I hope for the best for the guy, but this is a commitment game, and even though the division is weak, there still are some half decent fighters there that'll eat up the weaker willed competition....

It's good to see Briggs getting another shot. In this heavyweight division, he has a shot. It's up to him to see what he does with it.

all the titleist in H.W. division are B / C class fighters. i see Briggs as a B class fighter, he has a really good chance to actually win a title.
