So Wilder turned down 10M for Povetkin.

If I won the title I wouldn't want to go half around the world to fight in his home territory where I have no chance with the officials. I am the champ, make him come here! Povetkin should be chasing a rematch with Wlad anyways, he is the recognized champion. Povetkin should have learned from the first fight and be more aggressive.Comment

Huh? Since when have I been a wilder fan or showed the least bit of interest in him winning or losing? If you think this than there is no point to continue the discussion.
He isn't a champion, he is a beltholder. It's not a duck, it's his team choosing the right step up fight given what wilder has shown. He is "developing" as Stivernne was the 1st legit opponent he faced IMO. I surely didn't know he could box like that.
It's not about downside as one fight doesn't make or determine a career. Its about what is the right long term move at this point in his career rather than making a short term move. I explained why I thought it was in my first post.

and someone like you who cant admit an obvious duck, and you already said it "long term" that's another term for ducking the competition right?Comment

If one fight doesn't make or determine a career, then take the 10 million for this one fight and move on afterwards win or lose.Comment

You didn't "call" anything yet. Wilder has only had the belt for two weeks and he can't start training until March because of a broken hand. Nothing definitive has happened.
I also recall you predicting with confidence the referee would stop the Stiverne fight as soon as Wilder landed a punch. You're not doing well with predictions so far.Comment

Or, wait and take a lesser step up fight and then fight Povetkin later. It really isn't a big deal.Comment
