If I won the title I wouldn't want to go half around the world to fight in his home territory where I have no chance with the officials. I am the champ, make him come here! Povetkin should be chasing a rematch with Wlad anyways, he is the recognized champion. Povetkin should have learned from the first fight and be more aggressive.

It still is. Deontay made a long term business decision, not a short term one.

He isn't a champion, he is a beltholder. It's not a duck, it's his team choosing the right step up fight given what wilder has shown. He is "developing" as Stivernne was the 1st legit opponent he faced IMO. I surely didn't know he could box like that.

It's not about downside as one fight doesn't make or determine a career. Its about what is the right long term move at this point in his career rather than making a short term move. I explained why I thought it was in my first post.

          .
would that make vitali a "belt holder" as well? He did have that same belt when wlad had the other ones

and someone like you who cant admit an obvious duck, and you already said it "long term" that's another term for ducking the competition right?

Your posts reek of someone who wants to protect Wilder not someone who wants to see a good fight.

If one fight doesn't make or determine a career, then take the 10 million for this one fight and move on afterwards win or lose.

I'm not surprised the usual ****riders are in here applauding fighting lesser opponents because for some reason a guy who earned a title shot, and won it, isn't ready. Wtf?

And neither is Wilder. Povetkin draws people to his fights in Russia.

I also recall you predicting with confidence the referee would stop the Stiverne fight as soon as Wilder landed a punch. You're not doing well with predictions so far.
It was a fracture. I do see what you mean and yes, I do think he should let it heal.

No they don't. In no way am I protecting wilder. you just wanted to argue.

Or, wait and take a lesser step up fight and then fight Povetkin later. It really isn't a big deal.
