First American HW for a while now, so it may be protected for a couple of years.

Thats hell of a payday to turn down, whether overseas or not. A belt isn't going to provide for him, only defences will do that and the better the opponent the better the money.

    Another gutless champ

It was the right long term move for Wilder Bat. Povetkin was too far a leap for someone who had not faced any really serious comp. That's the mistake my boy Glenn Tapia made jumping up to fight Kirkland.

He got a huge rating on Showtime and a belt and established himself as the best US HWT, which will open up marketing opportunities for him that could make up that money. He will make significantly bigger purses in his next 2 fights, especially when he fights wlad.

He will make $10mil when he fights Povetkin only the fight will likely be in the US and wilder will have more experience giving him a better chance to win.

Wilder's the A side. The fight takes place where he says.

If Povetkin wants to give him 10 million dollars to get his ass whipped it should be over here.

The only fight Bronze Bomber should have to travel for is Wladimir Klitschko.

A side doesn't mean American side, or does it now? Must be a bunch of Larry or Hanz alts.

10 million is a shit ton of money right now.

All the variables of what if and what could in my mind go flying out the window when you have a guaranteed payday like that staring you in the face, even having to go to Moscow to get it.

And if Wilder does go for it and snaps it off, that's an instant cache of legitimacy, along with the 8 figure payday.

            Just my two pennies.
Can you imagine if he won?
He'd probably be getting offers in Germany and Russia for 10x what he'd get in the states.

It just seems weird to me that they had to heavily paper the Stiverne-Wilder seats. With a big win, they'd never have to paper anything again.

            SIDE NOTE
If only boxing could get sponsorships from advertisers like other sports do.

We'd be having these big dust ups every month or so with everybody trying to cash in, EVERYBODY getting paid, and the fans not having to pay. What a dream!

i bet wilder chompin at the bit for this fight. his management declined this. I would rather this fight be in US so we don't have to watch his fights in the afternoon or something. but really, there is no downside for wilder if he went to Russia to whup some guy for 10mil. maybe downside to the vegas events and such. if anything, he could command a higher purse for US fights if he says wtf I can make 10+ in Russia.

If he's the A-side, he'd be the one bringing the money but he's not.

In order to be the A-side, you need the money of an a-side.

I don't think you get there by papering seats , that's for sure.

Wilder's the champ. If Povetkin wants the belt he can come and try to get it.
