    He's not underrated.

Most rank him higher than Hearns, as do I.

Alright, thanks for the replies. Interesting to hear what everyone thinks, maybe just in England he's the least mentioned.

What's Hagler's claim to fame? Leonard, Duran, Hearns & Mugabi. In Middleweight fights! And what were these guys????

Why is a MW lumped in with a bunch of Welterweights in the Fab Four? Great MW, no question. But he's a legend by name association. It's like GGG waiting on the Pacquiao's and Mayweather's to move up and get butchered!

If ya don't know ya just don't know....

All losses and draws avenged, except for srl, and we all know what happened there...

Mr. Marvelous Marvin Hagler, the killer from Newark, NJ, my town, repped correctly...

Underrated? By Who? People on this forum?

            That means absolutely NOTHING!

Hagler greatness is one that NOBODY can question because he fought EVERYBODY and if he felt he did not kick your a$$ good enough the first time he would fight you again to leave NO DOUBT!

He had one style- straight forward with decent head movement, winging power shots. Hey, it worked for him. One dimensional is not really an insult, but I never saw him do anything differently. Joe Frazier, George Foreman and a young Manny Pacquiao were one dimensional as well, but it worked for them. It's not really an insult. I do say that Pacquiao no longer is however. He developed many other abilities along the way.

Hagler did not need to have more dimensions. What he did worked for him. And he's in the HOF with the other fab four. He had a granite chin and great power. I just don't believe he had the range of Leonard, Hearns or Duran. Take it easy. Geez.

Excellent point. His three biggest names were all smaller men. Especially Duran a natural lightweight! And he had no easy time with Duran at all. The way he got schooled by Leonard just made him look like a dope. Plain and simple. And I say it again. Hearns broke his right hand in the first round! Huge disadvantage.

As it stands with me,of the four...he is number one.

It's got nothing to do with backing and promotion. One guy was fighting and beating genuinely great opposition at or near the peak points of their career, while the other resided over a weak era of middleweights.

This level of ******ation can't even make me laugh.

Why don't you try watching a Hagler fight besides Hearns? He has a decade of dominance to pick from.
