I lean towards Wladimir but if they fought 10 times it could well be 5 a piece. I lean towards Wladimir because hes sharper, quicker hands and feet and the better puncher.
Lewis was a decent HW but IMO he is massively overrated today.
Even looking at his resume its just names. I know you can pick apart any fighters resume but his really isn't that great when you look at it in depth. When you look past the names its all hypejobs who never became ****, drug addicts or shot legends.
It seems if you're Lewis fan you always have to mention how he defeated every fighter he faced but should one of the very best ever heavyweights really need two tries to do it in their prime?
People talk as if he was a ferocious monster, anybody who has seen a little more than a few fights or highlight reels knows he was just as boring and safety first as Wladimir.
Underrated when active, very overrated now.
He was a good HW, one of the first top super heavyweights but when people talk as if hes this monster, this head-to-head God its crazy. There are many, many heavyweights who would beat him and many lesser fighters who could potentially take him out. He wouldn't beat Holmes, Ali, Big George, PRIME Holyfield to name a few
I think most of his career was brilliant matchmaking, catching guys at the right time. Hes a very good heavyweight but to say he is 'arguably the best ever' I strongly disagree with. I don't think its arguable at all. Hes a good top 10-12 and that is where it should end. I think people look back at times and see what they want to see.
I don't think the GOAT HW gets one punch K.Od by Rahman AND McCall and gets comprehensively outboxed by Ray Mercer and Bruno (until the K.O)
He struggled with way too many fringe contenders and guys that wasn't really world beaters at his peak for me to have him right up there.
