Lol that was a disgrace to real Cuban style.
There are two Mexican-schools of boxing: 1.) The inside technician, sometimes throws caution and defense to the wind; but make no mistake - has very good inside technique. EX: JCC Sr. And even guys like Rios, and Margarito have very underrated inside technique. and, 2.) The classical, rhythmic, boxer-puncher/well-rounded in all areas, and can counter-punch beautifully in combinations. EX: Sanchez, Finito, Marquez, MAB, Morales.
I can't quite put my finger on Canelo's style. He's sort of a classical boxer puncher, and fits more in the second school of Mexican pugilism. He's a much better boxer that sometimes credited, and has pretty good defensive posture.
But in this fight, he utilized more of the type 1 school of Mexican boxing - he dug deep, worked, and weaved his way on the inside, and dug deep to the body.
