The proof is in the pudding; a good or even great boxer has to win notable fights to get respect as a boxer. The chicks swooning over them may get them camera time on talk shows, but they'll never be known as great boxers because of their pretty faces or family name.
Oh I wasn't talking about informed viewers. This is how they're perceived in general. I don't think they're bad fighters, I just think there are plenty more gifted, talented boxers that they could back. I remember a best athlete poll done in december 2012 to close the year. Canelo was like only a couple of votes away from beating Marquez(both getting squashed by Chicharito, lol). Keep in mind this was in 2012, after Marquez had just knocked out Pacquiao and Canelo had just beaten, Josesito Lopez lol. I remember just shaking my head.

Apparently you don't know the definition of a knock out in boxing.
I really do hope you are trolling. Good god.

Lesson of the day: In boxing when someone is down on the ground from a punch for more than 10 seconds it's a knock out. For example Wilder knocking out Charlie Z.

            Why is that?

You think that fan base for the Pittsburgh kid would have been as large if Spadafora was say Devon Alexander??

Mayweather had made himself an anti-hero from early on in his career, and has just gotten worse with age. At first, he was kind of meek and soft-spoken, then he began calling himself "Pretty Boy Floyd". It got much worse for him after he began calling himself "Money", & throwing cash around. Now he calls himself "TBE", which is quite arrogant. Fight fans see that while he is talented, his tactics of cherry-picking, grabbing, running & holding, along with apparent favoritism from refs and judges makes him far from the best. The overt arrogance, the prima-donna attitude & previous excuses & refusal to fight Pacquiao really put fans' hatred of him at a peak. Throw in the domestic violence allegations and conviction, supporting Ray Rice, along with allegations of abusing his employees and even up-and-coming fighters for good measure. One can see how very easy it is to dislike & yes, even hate this man, without regard to his race or skin color.
Floyd was getting hate long before this... He was hated way back when he was at 130. Listen to Larry Merchant call any of his fights in those days (specifically the Goyo Vargas fight).

It has nothing to do with the stuff you posted. The hate he generates is simply because he's a GREAT AFRICAN AMERICAN BOXER that refuses to be overly politically correct with the media. He doesn't kiss ass or speak like RUSSEL WILSON or CHRIS ALGERI.

Most black boxers/athletes that don't fit the "MOLD" get scrutinized, overly criticized and demeaned constantly by media and racially biased fans nonstop.

EXAMPLES: Floyd, Roy Jones, B-Hops, AB, James Toney, etc...

I don't hate Wilder, in fact I want to like him. However what I do hate is the fact that is seems painfully obvious he is not this great hope some people want to see. The man has fought nobody and seemed to dislike being hit by nobodies. I honestly believe he's going to be exposed as having a worse chin than Khan. I think it's pure glass in that thing. There's nothing more I'd love to see than be wrong and see a resurgence of the heavyweight division in America, but at this point I don't see it.

When is the last time non-black Americans rallied around an African American boxer and showed strong support?

Tyson Fury has received more attention and support than Wilder and Stiverne combined.
