So deliberate low blows are fair to you??? This aint a street fight dude, and the wrap situation is brought up because of the hopkins fight... you cant help but think the same thing could have happened here. Dont get butt hurt dude, relax and take a deep breath.

That version of Vargas was a beast and wouldve easily beat the version of Oscar that he fought. Alot of people say that Oscar ruined Vargas but thats b.s. Vargas was never the same after the Tito fight. He even got dropped in his very next fight. The sad part is that I think Vargas couldve beat Tito if he wasnt so brave. If he just stayed boxing then he couldve won but he said he felt like he was behind in the fight after the knock downs even though he had came back and tied it up very soon after. Just wasnt experinced enough to know that and handle those situations

As a huge Vargas fan, this fight was truly special for me watching it live at 16 at my dads friends house.... From the sound of the bell to begin round 1 there was tension and anticipation building in the room, and just like that BOOM!! a massive left hook puts vargas down for the first time in his career...he gets up quick then BOOM, he goes down again, now the Vargas fans including myself are crapping bricks at this point and are in utter disbelieve that this is actually happening!!

Vargas survives round 1, and gets his legs back to start round 2. Vargas seems to be adjusting to tito when a jab rocks him again, then i seen something that i was vrry impressef with and that was the defensive skill Vargas was very underated for as he made tito miss 14 straight shots in 1 continued sequence!! Absoutely amazing!

Round 3 starts as more of the same happens here only Vargas iz begining to turn the tide here as tito gets jabbed/grazzed howehever you want to perceive it, now tito is in trouble !! And the unthinkable happens, Tito low blows Vargas....boxing resumes as vargas has his best round so far!

Round 4 begins as both land sum jabs andBOOM!!, just like that tito is on the mat from a beughtiful left hook from vargas... then the drama begins and what materialized was the best fight of 2000 IMO, and one of the best jr.middleweight fights of all time...

Share your guys' memories and thoughts on one of the best fights ever!!
It was a great fight (better than any fight I can remember seeing in the last five years), but Vargas was out of his league. Trinidad was obviously the superior fighter. Both fighters were throwing low blows and both had a point deducted for low blows. Of course, Vargas used the low blows as an excuse for why he lost. However, I remember very clearly that, at some point during the middle rounds after being warned and having a point or two (I don't remember if it was one or two) being taken away for low blows, Trinidad stop throwing shots to the body and only threw head shots. For the last five rounds of the fight, Trinidad only threw head shots and still dominated Vargas and knocked him out in the 12th round.

I remember Vargas' trainer was terrible. The trainer gave him virtually no instructions between rounds in the last five rounds. It looked like he didn't have a clue how Vargas could counter Trinidad's attack and win the fight.

I always thought Vargas was overrated. Two fights later, he was knocked out by De La Hoya. He later lost two fights by KO to Shane Mosley. Vargas lost against every A-level fighter he fought. He was exciting to watch, but, in my opinion, he should have fired his trainer after the Trinidad fight because that trainer didn't do a damn thing for Vargas.

Why would it fit an agenda?? did he not have his hands wrapped for the vargas fight?? Is it not possible that if he tried to wrap them like that with hopkins before he got busted, that maybe he was doing it like that possibly his entire career???

Its not hard to connect the dots here... all due respect.
