He'll talk about how Manny needs to sign with TMT first.

And lastly he'll hype up his actual next fight like Danny Garcia or Miguel Cotto 2.

"Danny Garcia a young lion who is undefeated, never knocked out like Poochiao."

"Miguel Cotto is a warrior. His loss against Pacquiao didnt count and he gave me a helluva fight. Lets do it again because the fans want to see it. I always give the fans what they want."

    blah blah blah

I dont for one second believe Mayweather is considering Pac next. He already has his next opponent not named Pacquiao lined up.
Probably where we're headed next alright. Floyd fans claiming Manny needs to accept 80-20 to make it happen.

He has the physical tools (speed/range) , but for a guy in his 30's he looks -very- green.

Not to mention his corner , when they spoke about their game plan I thought they were talking about beating Isaac Froost on Fight Night Champ

And he needed a bum... errr.. Alcherry pic... errr... dancing partner which was conveniently provided by uncle Bob.

They picked Alcherry before he was ripe then drained him on the scales.

So, maybe, perhaps, by some chance, Chris wasn't a straight up bum before the fight.

But he sure was one as soon as he stepped off the scales the second time.

            .
Why shouldn't he try to avoid such succesive taxation? A boxer makes his money in such a way that his tax consequeces are maximized. You would be suprised by how much these taxes add up including sales tax, property tax etc.

How much money will you make in your lifetime? I ask because you would not want it taxed as an accumulted total, unless you are financially impoverished (its a rhetorical question). I actually live a very poor lifesyle so I am not taxed to death.... My earned income is such that I could easily be on food stamps and public assistance, I am not. I do this because my assets, if used judiciously, would be so heavily taxed that I could not have an estate for my kids.

Everyone wants to get taxed less for a reason, it is a raquet.

It wasn't even that they sounded inexperienced at the top level, they sounded like they didn't really belong in boxing at all. They were like a couple of your local gym-heads at a white collar boxing event.

The more I think about it, the more I think Algieri could find another level if he moves to a proper gym. What he's done so far seems impressive when you consider the goons that he has in his corner.

Chris is a beautiful kid. He has a future. As a decent fighter, as a trainer, etc. There is no shame in this loss, he will benefit and get better because of it. He was also instrumental in being a physically strong opponent for Manny which Manny needed to keep tip top.

This kid is young enough at 30 that he could get much better, I think eventually he could challenge Garcia if he really is determined to maximize his potential. His biggest hurdle as I see it is when he boxes he doesn't sit down on his shots enough to hurt top level guys. This can be worked with, he could get a lot better if he can integrate his boxing and develop a little more power in his punches, i.e. sit down on them when appropriate.

A lot of kick boxers have this problem. My own take on this is that kickboxing is a schizophrenic sport! Martial Artists who were fighters never bounced on their toes like a boxer until Joe Lewis (the kickboxer) created this sport. Even superfoot Wallace sould set when he threw his kicks and not bounce. When the sport became popular people started to use half assed boxing techniques.

I think a lot of kick boxing habits have to be relearned for prizefighting.

Thai fighters have the virtue of being excellent at their sport. No sanctioned Thai fighter to my knowledge has been beat up in a Thai match by a grappler, or boxer. By contrast if a kickboxer fought a martial artist who knows how to fight they would have some problems....Korean karate fighters can kick a lot better, Thai guys integrate techniques better and boxers box better.

I am not sure it is doable, to be honest.

With a new trainer they'd have two options.

                    1) Work with with they have and make some adjustment.

From the little I have seen though such scenario would only patch things up a bit, he could improve yes, but not enough to be at "another level". Surely he could benefit from better advices from his corner though, I give you that

                    2) Start from the basics, correct his bad habits and alter his style.

In this case, with an expert trainer, he could improve a lot, but such changes need time and are not always succesful.

Think of Khan, he has always been a fluid puncher, during his first fight after joining Hunter he was constantly double guessing himself, he looked tense, even stiff and mechanical at times.

Kickboxers have to check kicks and stuff so it's only natural they wouldn't be as good at just boxing right? Never seen kickboxing technique tbh
