its been a couple of weeks since the negotiations started and the fight will be 6 months from now, wouldnt surprise me if it becomes official between the next 2 weeks... anyways penagaricano him self said that the fight will happen in may and no crazy demands from cotto, and he also said that the fight will take place where is better financially regardless of who takes home field advantage...
Penegaricano also said that they are considering other options, not only Canelo. So take that for what it's worth.

Also keep in mind that Pacquaio is fighting sometime next year, usually around April or May. If Pacquaio is fighting, and he will, that will complicate training time with Freddie Roach if Cotto is fighting in May. Cotto and Roach won't be interesting in having to 'share' time like that.

That fight will be held in July and in New York. Or there will be no deal.

If you got real money and you got at least $5K, maybe we can talk about a bet. I don't do that e-money or e-point trash.

Cotto is the A Side PERIOD! You will have to give him everything he wants, even Mayweather gave him everything he requested.

Oscar for the first time went on record mentioning Texas as an alternative venue. He did that because he knows goddamn well that Cotto wants New York and only New York.

I cannot blame Cotto for trying to get his retirement package settled correctly. He may not be able to box again after the beating Canelo puts on him. Cotto is one of my fav fighters, but let's not pretend he's not fragile. I mean, Trout and Mayweather almost stopped him.

None the less, let Cotto get his cash-out fight settles so he can retire properly. Team Canelo should also understand this and give the man what he wants.

This, or maybe Floyd fighting in Vegas might have something to do with it as well.

I for one don't see why a city like Chicago isn't ever talked about. Great sports town. Has a variety of Mexicans and PRs and is a neutral city. But I figured Cotto wouldn't let canelo dictate the date, location, venue etc rtf while he just sits back and says, "yes, sir."

Canelo is a young star, but he doesn't have the notches on his belt to dictate to Cotto. The Golden Boy side for sure is going to have to make some concessions or that fight is not happening.

And Oscar acting a fool... Oscar, you know the sport, the only ones making the negotiations complicated are you two. Cotto is the A-side, there is no debating that. Agree to what Cotto asks for... you need him, not the other way around. He can call Mayweather up and set up the rematch for May.

New York, 60-40 in favor of Cotto. Deal with it.

WAR COTTO!!!!!! Destroy that sissy. Im as hyped for this one as I was for the Sergia fight.
He's done something that 90% percent the boxers ain't doin, he's not there sayin "fight doesn't make sense" "fight doesn't make money" "he's got to pay his dues before he faces me" " I'll leave that to my promoter".

He's got the balls to fight the best either winning or loosing. tell me of another guy who's willing to do that, only Hopkins comes to my mind right now, Rosado is another guy.

Now by your nick, why don't you tell GGG to go up and fight against Ward instead of chasing smaller fighters at this stage of his career, I don't blame him for wanting big paydays, but the words came from his mouth and I quote "I'll fight anybody from 154 to 168, anyone"

Yeah, he gain what at this stage is the most important thing..........money, he'll get more from Canelo than Mayweather believe me.
