No. I didn't miss the point. I understood it perfectly well, I just think you’re wrong.

You’re separating his potential performance and his age related physical limitations as two unrelated factors: he may loose by being outgunned but not having obviously diminished in skill or speed; or, alternatively he may suddenly grow old and be too slow as a byproduct.

What I’m saying is that you can’t separate age and quality of performance like they’re two unrelated things. Age is a factor that will ALWAYS play a part when evaluating a 50 year old’s performance against a monster puncher 20 years his jnr., regardless of whether that performance is good or bad. It’s naïve to assume a A+ performance by B-Hop that still results in a loss is not related to age. It is. Blatantly.

You’re justifying your reasoning with a phrase like “fans who are unbiased”. I’m not biased and I’m not a Kovalev fanboy. I think B-Hop stands a good chance of winning a 12 round fight. I just don’t think that will happen. Capisci?

      What legend?

BHop never was and to me he is another fraud. Frankly I lose respect for fighters claiming to be fighters when mostly what they do is run away or become annoyingly defensive. Even in BHop's prime, Kovalev would shred him to pieces if he can trap BHop and prevent him from running away.

Kovalev will make this a short fight and BHop comes up with age related excuses. But aliens never grow old and never make excuses.

So you think fighting should just about standing in front of the other guy and slugging it out. The dude with the toughest chin wins.... kinda like a caveman, right?

Forget Danny Green, Joe Calzaghe was the original legendary legend-killer.

I'm going to make it VERY simple for you to grasp! If Hopkins performs at the SAME level he has while winning against YOUNGER champions and contenders and he loses, NO ONE can talk about him aging overnight. A fighter has to SHOW their age by NOT being able to do the things they did in their last few fights! Such as by losing a step, timing off, legs not with the same bounce. IF Kovalev beats Hopkins and Hopkins STILL performed the SAME way he has done in his last few fights, it means Kovalev was BETTER than those guys, SIMPLE!

The age excuse only works when a fighter can no longer DO THE THINGS he has done in his previous fights that he WON. That's when "age-related physical limitations" become a reality, not before, or he would be losing to, not beating guys much younger than him. You are not the one who can say AGE was the reason why he lost - if he happens to lose to Kovalev UNLESS he SHOWS his age by being UNABLE to perform the way he has in his last few fights, period!

Gotta respect Kovalev for stepping up to the plate. Fighting B-Hop is no simple task, even at 50 years of age. He's out to beat the best at 175, and if he starts it off with Hopkins, that'd really be saying something. Adonis Stevenson already seems to be afraid of him. I wouldn't see him going near Kovalev unless Hopkins made him look bad en route to a loss.

That said, I have the old man by MD.
