Comments Thread For: Kovalev: To Become a Legend, I Have To Beat a Legend!

WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (25-0-1, 23KOs) is less than two weeks away from the biggest fight of his career, a unification with WBA/IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (55-6-2, 32KOs). They will battle on November 8th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Kovalev will not show any respect, or mercy, to the near 50-year-old legend. The boxer known as the "Krusher" has promised to punish Hopkins in the contest. Hopkins has never been stopped and feels his experience will be too much for the up and coming Kovalev.

      So true!

It would be a good win for sure but I think a B-Hop win would be more impressive due to his age.

You want to become a legend, then beat a legend that's a little closer to their prime.

If he beats hopkins, even at this stage of his career id give him full credit.....simply because hopkins at this stage has been too much for alot of other fighters in this division not named calzaghe or dawson.

That doesn't apply here. The main reason Hopkins is a legend IS his age. He wasn't really "legendary" in his prime.

It is lose/lose for Kovalev. I hope he KOs the old man, though.

Will Hopkins continue to box if Krusher crushes in inside the distance ?

Fair point, B-Hop was never a big star like Roy Jones.
