Has Ward fought anyone as skilled/good as Kovalev/Golovkin?

Any specifics as to what makes Froch/Kessler better/good, besides them fighting each other/other top 168lbers? I mean like a legit breakdown of skill.

What makes GGG special? KO's? Wilder must be just as special too, if not greater.

He hasn't fought anyone like GGG and GGG hasn't fought anyone like Ward. Only way to find out who wins is to fight. Said the same thing about PBF and Pac years ago.

Main thing is Ward needs to get in the ring and fight someone, anyone. Worst thing he could do is go straight into a GGG fight after a 16 month layoff or whatever it would be. GGG might knock the ring rust off along with his head.

160 is a pathetically weak division if thats what you're trying to say it's not. It's awful that's been said before people were hyping GGG to the moon. 175 isn't great either but it's not bad. 168 Is a lot better than both and if GGG or Kov are products of a weak division or talented remains to be seen. The thing is they fight (especially GGG) in pathetic divisions. This isn't new information so don't try to twist it like it's a GGG thing.

This right here. How you going to ask if Ward has fought anybody who is skilled/good as Kovalev/GGG when Kovalev/GGG havn't even faced any A class fighters yet to show how good they actually are? Ward's resume > Kovalev/GGG's resume together.

Nope. Kessler is easily Ward's best opponent. Can't forget that a past prime Kessler still had enough to beat Froch. Kessler is a good fighter, no doubt, but he's more stiff and robotic than Kovalev or GGG and doesn't have the punch either.

You can look tremondously skilled against average fighters, it until you fight a great fighter where we see how good you really are....GGG looks to be more skilled then froch, but if they were too fight i think froch would beat him......skills dont always pay bills in the sport of boxing.

Both Golovkin and Kovalev have deep amateur backgrounds and you don't have to take out the P4P top 10 to be able to have a clear skillset.

I think you've got a valid point.

I'd pick Kovalev and GGG (imagine others would too) moving to 168 and clearing out 80% of the division within a few months if the promoters allowed it. So either that makes people perceive Kovalev and GGG to be something special/better than them, or the 168 division is just vastly overrated with guys who feed off each other.

I'd love to see someone argue that either of them wouldn't trash most good fighters at 168 besides Ward and potentially Froch.
