You can look tremondously skilled against average fighters, it until you fight a great fighter where we see how good you really are....GGG looks to be more skilled then froch, but if they were too fight i think froch would beat him......skills dont always pay bills in the sport of boxing.
Has Ward fought anyone as skilled/good as Kovalev/Golovkin?

What makes GGG and Kovalev special?? because they ko c class fighters? Ya'll get mad when people say GGG should move up 8 pounds to fight Ward for crying out loud...Froch win over Bute is better then anything either has done...Wards win over Abraham is better then either has done and Abrahams win over Jermain Taylor is better then either has done...Just let them actually prove themselves before trying to discredit proven champions..GGG best win is Rubio or Geale?? who are their best wins?? Kovalevs best win is Nathan ****ing CLeavery whos best win is what?? Maurot?Comment

Here we go again, no one said they were special
For the most part, none of the fighters that have been mentioned in this thread are special. In my opinion it's only Ward, Golovkin looks to be the part but looks can be deceiving which is why he needs to up his opposition.
For the record I believe Golovkin is the real deal, I've expressed that many times but my own eyes have deceived me before.
If they're not special..... then what's the problem? Does that NOT mean they're overrated and products of weak division and era. Does that NOT mean that Geale = Froch/Kessler/Ward (he fought top MW's too, and beat them) Does that not mean all of the stuff I'm saying in this thread?
King bro, ward outlasted the best in the division and won the super six tournament.... that accomplishment alone says ward is ahead of GGG On any unbiased p4p list.... if GGG can win a round robin like that against the divisions best then i could say GGG is p4p. But until then..... kova has his chance nov. 8 hopefully GGG Will have his next year.
I'm not saying he didn't fight the best his division has to offer. He did.
Well I can't say much for Abraham, he looked terrible in his last fight, and Bika I've always considered a gatekeeper, but Froch, has had some good victories under his belt, jean Pascal, Bute (probably a shot Bute but whatever) and many others, the dude is still 33-2 and the point I'm trying to make is that Ward still made him look very average. You're asking me to make a case for the skillset of the opponents Ward has beaten, when both GGG and Kov haven't even beaten opponents which are on Froch's level (IMHO) . . . and that goes back to what I'm saying. GGG or Kov haven't beaten anyone as good as Ward yet, so how can you say they'd shut him out?
I'm not saying it wouldn't happen, anything is possible, especially when you hit as hard as those to do, but Ward is where he is for a reason.
In regards to Daniel Geale, I think he is GGG's best opponent to date, but he is still nothing special. GGG clears out 160 easy though.
Geale is nothing special, just like Froch/Kessler/Abraham/Bika. Yet they were all top of their division.
Ward gets credit for beating his non-special, overrated "top fighters" but Golovkin doesn't for Geale. In what realm does that make sense?
Again, what makes Froch level "so high" that you're talking about? If he's not a special fighter, he's a product of a terrible era/division...... so what does it matter if GGG/Kovalev haven't fought anyone on his level.
Also forget about me saying Kovalev/GGG beat Ward, that's just my opinion..... but irrelevant to everything else I'm saying/asking. That's just my own personal opinion.
Oh please. Yeah, you're not biased at all.........
I'm "wilfully ignorant?" you just came in this thread and provided no insight or gave a legit answer to legit questions I'm asking. I want serious replies.... if you give a response I will read it and reply.
What makes them special? There's nothing you can say...... the truth is, and nobody will disagree with me because it is what it is (I suppose. where are the replies?) is that they all have the attributes I mentioned and none of them have elite skillsets.
They were "Top SMW's" for beating each other and other overrated fighters who were/are products of a weak era at 168.
Geale = Froch/Kessler/Abraham. If not, can you explain why without coming here and just calling me ignorant for no reason?

I thought the guy had to be trolling but he is dead ****ing serious..this is why these fighters get haters because of nonsense like this...hell GGG's camp straight up refused to fight Ward saying he brings no moneyComment

I forgot about Bika, I think Bika definitely lasts 12 rounds with GGG and gives him hell but he loses.
Froch's power, chin, stamina, clutch performances make him better. His fights against Taylor, Pascal, Groves II, Bute, should show anyone what he is made of. GGG can't go in there and do to Froch what he did to Rubio, Geale or Macklin, but on the other hand I can see Froch going in there and do to GGG what he's done to other fighters like Bute and Groves. It would kind of be a case of Nonito Donaire winning FOTY in 2012 for beating four old/small/overmatched but top 10 opponents, having so many fans hyping him up, network backing him up, and then rising way up in class vs Rigondeaux and getting embarrassed. That's what would happen if GGG fights Froch.
Again, as to how Froch is better, Froch is one of those fighters that has fans/critics/boxers and media puzzled from the outside looking in as to how the heck does he get some of these wins out of his ass like he does. You and I are just boxing fans so we can sit here and criticize how flawed Froch is but excellent fighters like Pascal, Dirrell(I thought he won but still had trouble), Groves, Bute, Johnson had so much problems with him. They are the only one's that can sit here and break down Froch's strengths and weaknesses. If I do it, I would just be talking out of my ass. I can say Froch is slow, has shotty defense, a lot of stamina, can KO you in the championship rounds even if you were kicking his ass, packs a punch, and has a chin from hell and can recover real fast, and even pretend that he is okay after he gets hit flush.Comment

Okay if they aren't special and no ones responding to me, then what gives?
I can give a detailed breakdown of what makes Golovkin and Kovalev special. Nobody, mainly people who hate on GGG/Krusher but nuthug Froch/Kessler becuse they fought Ward can't give one on them?
Am I missing something or does this not prove everything I'm saying about weak eras/overrated, etc...... right?
The fact of the matter is, they might all look like killers if confronted with the same level of opposition as Kovalev and Golovkin. At the very least Froch has proven himself time and time again. Pascal went on to beat Dawson who was very good at the time.Comment

Like, does anyone actually believe Abraham would win vs GGG, or Bika? Heck, even Dirrel who lost in the amatuers to GGG? Obviously for now it's only guessing though.
It's telling to me when I can imagine a fighter from 160, moving up to 168 and clearing 80% of the division probably in a month if he was allowed and didn't have business at 160 already.Last edited by T18Z; 10-24-2014, 05:30 PM.Comment
