Whether Ward is suing his promoter or not isn't the point. Golokin's team said they don't want the Ward fight because it doesn't make FINANCIAL SENSE.

As far as I was aware Ward was off limits to everyone because he was suing his promoter to get out of his promotional contract. How the hell is anyone supposed to make a fight with Ward under that situation? Has it passed your awareness that Ward hasn't fought since Nov 2013?

Obviously he wouldn't even be offered 700k for the fight. But he wouldn't turn down and demand a huge number to fight a smaller opponent, like Froch has done. You only do that when you aren't sure you can win.

No, and Froch would be - in comparison to what he earns now. Same difference. And obviously, regardless of what your pea sized brain tells you, GGG knows his worth in a fight with Cotto and would want his fair shake - like every other fighter on this planet would.

While Ward and Golovkin both have said that theyll fight each other, Golovkin's promoter made it clear in the aftermath of Golovkin's third-round knockout of Daniel Geale on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden that the dollars might not make sense for Golovkin or Ward.

Golovkin would have to move up from 160 pounds to 168 to make the fight, but that's not what truly concerns Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions.

"That's a fight that's going to be tough to make, if only because of the financial situation,"Loeffler said. "Gennady would go to 168. Carl Froch sold 80,000 tickets in Wembley Stadium. That's a testament to his marketability. Chavez is a proven pay-per-view star. Andre Ward is a terrific fighter and we have a lot of respect for his boxing ability.

"But the finances for that fight doesn't make sense for Gennady to go up to 168, when there's so many big names at 160. Andre's going to want a big chunk of that money. And for Gennady to move up, he's going to want a big chunk of the money, just like he was going to get to fight Chavez. That was a pay-per-view financial structure, and the money was there to make that fight."

Neither Golovkin nor Ward has headlined a pay-per-view show, but that would be the only path HBO Sports could pursue to satisfy the monetary demands of Ward and Golovkin for embracing such a risk.

It's not that similar. He claims the Froch fight pays for itself, Ward fight doesn't. GGG Froch indeed doesn't pay for itself in the US, but he thinks it does in the UK. You claim otherwise, but you're very defensive and agenda driven on the topic.

Bute was knocking people out left right and center, better opponents than GGG was facing! Froch was the underdog, picked to be knocked out in the fight by a guy even Ward didnīt want to fight.

The Abraham fight was the same.

Froch is clearly not scared of GGG, he's at stage where he's taking home millions of pounds, why should he take 1/4th of his purse just to satisfy your personal needs?

Who is GGG anyway? Never beaten a good opponent yet, and certainly not beaten anyone in the SMW divison. he doesn't even deserve a Froch payday yet.
