One other small difference is that you're getting punched hard in the ***ing head to earn a living. Did you really just say that?

    Now who's being disingenuous?

You online nerds are always ****ing on about how you'd accept a pack of Quavers to fight a prime Tyson to "prove I'm the best". Absolute drivel.

Froch will fight anyone but he's not just going to fight for pittance just to get approval of a handful of dweebs on a forum who will just move on to say he's ducking the next person a few weeks later.

    • Golovkin fans, please explain why he won't fight Andre Ward then if it's all about "proving who is the best"?

Some Golovkin fans use their "promoter view" for this fight and say he shouldn't do that because he might lose and he'll lose the steam he's gained.

Oh but even in their "fan view" they don't want to see that because it's "not exciting"

Funniest part of it all is they slate every other fighter if they don't "fight the best"

I'm pretty sure every boxer who turns professional is aware that they are going to get punched in the head. I think that is called an occupational hazard.

Fighting Golovkin is not going to provide a pittance for Froch. I'm not suggesting Froch should fight Golovkin regardless, if he was to earn a mere 500k to fight Golovkin then he shouldn't and i'd have no qualms about that. Luckily he would earn good money fighting Golovkin.

If Froch wants to fight the easier opponents for the same or slightly more money then that is fine. Hell i'd probably do the exact same if I was in his situation. However he and his supporters cannot also claim that he/Froch will fight anyone and that it is all about the glory. He/you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

I can't believe they don't see the blatant hypocrisy. Surely, they can see it? Surely.

Golovkin's manager literally used the term "financial sense" and they still can't see it

Slowly becoming the most insufferable fanbase in boxing

When people say Froch will fight anyone, it doesn't mean he'll do it for less than what he or the fight is worth. No fighter in the history of boxing would do that.

If HBO came to him and said they'll do the GGG fight on HBO PPV and give him more than any of the other offers available, then I have little doubt that Froch would accept. If he turned it down at that point, then you could make a case for "ducking".

Out of curiosity, is GGG ducking Ward in your book?

Because that fight will be hard to finance at all. Neither guy brings enough money for the purses the fight would command. For example, Ward is waiting for an offer from a guy whose career high is less than half Ward's last tuneup wage. No such issue with Froch

                • What I dont understand is that GGG is clearly HBO's new golden boy. Hes also 32. They should just pony up the cash for somebody like Froch or Chavez jr. With the marquee win that GGG desperately needs, i feel like it's worth the investment even if its not a PPV fight. Who knows i dont run HBOs books though.

Froch or Chavez are 10m+ in combined purse. That's more than a third of their annual budget, impossible. Such fights can only be on PPV, or stadium fights in the UK with domestic PPV

Again the market determines the fights worth, the promoter and the tv network project what that worth is, if their calculations and foresight is correct then they will make money. The fighter wants as much money as possible. Froch doesn't want to fight Golovkin because he considers (correctly) that Golovkin is tougher than DeGale and Chavez. He wants to be compensated for losing, and indeed perhaps being knocked out. Again that is fair enough but if that is the case, and it is, then he cannot also claim he will fight anyone regardless (within reason).

Nobody is ducking Ward at this stage, Ward is a non-entity until he sorts out his promotional problems.
