    If GGG was a true warrior, he'd fight Ward for next to nothing just to prove his worth

      Notice in the quote above, Loffler says "Gennady is going to want a huge chunk of the money"

      But I thought Foreign Soil said that Golovkin would accept a Happy Meal to face Cotto?

        Yeah, as I said, if GGG was a true warrior he'd accept to just get his expenses paid to get in the ring with Ward.

        A true warrior fights for glory and to prove you're the best.

          I'm sure if GGG could get 900k to fight Rubio, he can get 900k to fight Ward.

          What's the problem?? Surely that's financial sense enough. He doesn't need more to fight Ward. Maybe they could even make it a million.

            The Abraham fight was the same.

            Froch is clearly not scared of GGG, he's at stage where he's taking home millions of pounds, why should he take 1/4th of his purse just to satisfy your personal needs?

            Who is GGG anyway? Never beaten a good opponent yet, and certainly not beaten anyone in the SMW divison. he doesn't even deserve a Froch payday yet.
            Froch didnt have much respect for Bute at all, he'd been taunting him for years. AA was considered dangerous, but he was also coming off a demoralizing loss.

            1/4th? Gtfo

            Degale does? Chavez does? On the strength of the Rubio UD, or the Vera rematch? Alright "massive GGG fan" lol

              It's literally exactly the same.

              Of course Loffler says the Froch fight pays for itself because he is bringing jack **** to the table and he wants to take a "big chunk" of Froch's UK money. How can you not understand this?

              Of course the money is there in a Froch fight to satisfy GGG because he's only making 900k. The money isn't there for Froch in a GGG fight though. Just like the money isn't there for GGG in a Ward fight. Please tell me you're playing dumb or something?

                  Golovkin versus Andre Ward seems to be a close second. While Ward and Golovkin both have said that they***8217;ll fight each other, Golovkin***8217;s promoter made it clear in the aftermath of Golovkin***8217;s third-round knockout of Daniel Geale on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden that the dollars might not make sense for Golovkin or Ward.

                  Golovkin would have to move up from 160 pounds to 168 to make the fight, but that***8217;s not what truly concerns Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions.

                  ***8220;That***8217;s a fight that***8217;s going to be tough to make, if only because of the financial situation,***8221; Loeffler said. ***8220;Gennady would go to 168. Carl Froch sold 80,000 tickets in Wembley Stadium. That***8217;s a testament to his marketability. Chavez is a proven pay-per-view star. Andre Ward is a terrific fighter and we have a lot of respect for his boxing ability.

                  ***8220;But the finances for that fight doesn***8217;t make sense for Gennady to go up to 168, when there***8217;s so many big names at 160. Andre***8217;s going to want a big chunk of that money. And for Gennady to move up, he***8217;s going to want a big chunk of the money, just like he was going to get to fight Chavez. That was a pay-per-view financial structure, and the money was there to make that fight.***8221;

                  Neither Golovkin nor Ward has headlined a pay-per-view show, but that would be the only path HBO Sports could pursue to satisfy the monetary demands of Ward and Golovkin for embracing such a risk.

                  ================================================== ======

                  It's actually hilarious how similar the statements are. Yet Golovkin fantards pretend not to understand
                  Well there are a few things here.

                  Firstly there is the public statements of the fighters promoters and managers, their statements might be made in order to help them in their negotiations for potential fights. That might also be the case with Hearn in regards to Froch and Golovkin.

                  Secondly does the Golovkin team prefer fighting Froch, the lesser opponent, than Ward at 168? Yes they do. Sky PPV against Froch probably pays greater than regular HBO money against Ward. Is Golovkin ducking Ward? Maybe, although the fact that Ward is not fighting makes it easy for Golovkin to not appear like he is ducking Ward. He probably wants Ward, but just not yet. Does Froch ever want Golovkin? Probably not.

                  Both Froch and Golovkin want Chavez because of the $$$.

                    Froch is big enough at this point that a fight with GGG would do very well in the UK, and bring an additional HBO license fee and exposure.
