a pacquio fight wouldnt be able to happen if cotto was fighting on the same night, so that would mean hes gonna fight khan which also means no hispanic buys ( who buy the majority of all ppv's) and they dont order ppvs in the UK, so floyd would look foolish, his ego is at a all time high.

When you're talking boxing, you're talking Mayweather. Lol that statement is so funny to me. He really thinks boxing revolves around him. His bs fights two times a yr are not ever in the top ten of best fights of the yr.

Already did but Pac couldn't fight because of a "cut"

Arum figured Mayweather would be in jail and off the table. Now that Mayweather is available and seemingly would like to make the match, Arum suddenly isn't interested.

He used the lame excuse of the cut Pacquiao suffered against Marquez, saying he might not be ready for May. (I've never heard of a cut taking more than six months to heal.) However, earlier this week, when Arum thought Mayweather would be on ice behind bars, he said there was a good possibility Pacquiao would fight in May.

Moments after Mayweather was granted the continuance, Arum changed his tune.

"We're fighting in June, one of the four guys," Arum told me over the phone.

I asked him, now that Mayweather was available, would he at least be part of the conversation when Arum meets with Pacquiao next week?

A perturbed Arum's response was, "Absolutely not. Nope."

Canelo's only justification as a PPV star is that his fight cards are cheap to make, so even if he does 200k buys, they dont lose money so its considered successful. Mayweather is daring them to fight on that weekend because he knows the Las Vegas commission is going to give him the date.
ya acting as if the MGM is the only place to box on cinco de mayo. Ever heard of the cowboys stadium??? Pacquiao packed that place and his not even from america.

The overwhelming consensus here is the fact that Puerto Rico vs Mexico in boxing is the greatest rivalry in boxing and Canelo and Cotto are two of it's biggest stars and with that, the only way Mayweather does not lose financially is to fight on a different date or fight Pac on the same date. I agree with this. The only other possible combination that would be nearly as effective is if Chavez Jr shape himself into middleweight and if Cotto and he were to fight in place of Canelo. That's two scenarios Mayweather does not want to go against. Add another one, may not be the same rivalry but Chavez vs Canelo is not something Mayweather would want to go up against. Mayweather's ego is too big and he is placing himself between a rock and a hard place because he hates losing anything but will have to lose the date, or lose the money and I doubt his team and Showtime will agree to lose money along with him by ignorantly going against Cotto vs Canelo. Boxing is not Burger King, Mayweather cannot always have it his way.

So we're assuming Khan vs Mayweather will push through next year. Same assumptions made by ESPN, Smith. I have no problem with it.

Since 2007, which Mex-PR fight have outdone Floyd or Pacquiao in anything boxing related.
