All I know is that Im tired of paying for 2 premium channels and the movies suck too. If Haymon can pull this off I will be one happy fan. Im wondering what is Haymon long term goals with this happening?

But as fans of the sport i canrt see how this is a bad thing right now. We should embrace this and see what comes of it because what we have now isnt working. At least i am
Well, the one immediate consequence we may see is a Cold War even more fierce than the one we've just had. Haymon hasn't got enough good fighters in enough divisions to make this work by itself, yet how many of the traditional promoters are likely to want to work with a powerful rival who's a direct threat? Wouldn't necessarily be Haymons fault - he's just trying to make money after all - but can you imagine that being good for the sport as a whole?

I can kinda see the point that what there is currently is a long way from perfect and changes need to be made tho. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what this brings and hope that it turns out to either be a positive or not do too much long term harm if it's a negative.

Like Duva said if Haymon blows up the deal the other networks won't be scrambling to put on boxing.

However, I do think that in the long term boxing will be fine because the most valuable thing right now for TV is live sports.

He even screwed Showtime and Espinoza. Espinoza can't even reveal the true numbers cause it will damage Showtime even more.

How does Al have all this money? Well he must made a lot of artists very happy or made?
There's a reason Mayweather thanks Al Haymon before anyone else. We're loyal to each other bro. Floyd will be the face of Haymon boxing.

That's kinda my issue. If Haymons sole aim is to kinda do a similar thing to what Main Events has been doing with ESPN except on a bigger and grander scale then it seems to me there's few downsides. I can't help feeling that Haymon has something a little more ambitious in mind than FNF 2.0 tho.

It's this mention of having his own title and the suggestion that it may become a kinda closed UFC type promotion that has me a little worried cos that could really fracture the sport in the US.

So we can expect more garbage from Duva on NBC?

"He's promised NBC that he's going to take his fighters off premium cable... He's going to put Showtime and HBO out of the puzzle." -- Duva

Ouch! That must hurt if you've been kissing this guy's ass like Espinoza have.

If what Duva is saying is true, the average per card will be about $830K per card. On Floyd's last PPV, Haymon had one of his guys fighting his sparring partner for a $750K payday alone.

I doubt we're going to be seeing his marquee guys going at it. If you see an Amir Khan or Danny Garcia on NBC, it'll most likely be against a Rod Salsa caliber fighter.

But if he somehow finds a way to get NBC to throw down money or another entity (he's got connections) and we see quality fights regularly, I'll take back every negative thing I've ever said about Al Haymon. Hell if his plan is to get rid of the PPV model (seriously doubt it, too much money would be left on the table) I'll sacrifice a goat ritualistically in his honor.
