    Interesting plan by haymon...

Seems he sorta wants to follow the lead of WWE and provide fights for regular tv, to entice people to buy the "al haymon boxing network" for the PPv caliber fights, much like how WWE is getting away from the PPv business with their $9.99 a month WWE network..

Boxing fans can't help but get in their own way. It's about time for a new narrative, a new script. This whole black and white good and evil crap is old.
If he actually has been saving his guys for big fights on regular NBC and has just been screwing Showtime over with those lame fights, then awesome, I fully support the good fights on there.

If it's more of the same, then meh.

LOL! Do you really think Haymon will involve TMT on this? Why do you think he got his own promoters license for? To give his money to Floyd/TMT/Schaffer? Fool!

He even screwed Showtime and Espinoza. Espinoza can't even reveal the true numbers cause it will damage Showtime even more.

How does Al have all this money? Well he must made a lot of artists very happy or made?

No. We should all keep an open mind. Find out all the details and then decide, see how it progresses and then pass judgement. We don't know yet whether it's a good or bad thing.

For instance, do you think it'd be a good thing for the sport in the US to effectively divide into two exclusive parts? The traditional programmers and promoters making fights with each other, and Haymon fighters fighting amongst themselves? IMO that'd be worse than now.

People are saying this could save US boxing (boxing is fine in the rest of the world) but the converse of that is that it could destroy it by fracturing it even further. The point is that we just don't know right now. It may be great for the sport, but to simply assume it will be is incredibly naive.

It's sounds like you're suggesting that anyone who even questions this plan is an enemy of the sport before you even know the full extent of whats being proposed. I don't know what's going on but I'm not about to just blithely assume that it's a positive development.

Thats why i keep saying if its a good product then im on-board

But as fans of the sport i canrt see how this is a bad thing right now. We should embrace this and see what comes of it because what we have now isnt working. At least i am

I hope al sees the hit WWE profit and stock took since this went down.

That said, imagine how many ppv's would sell at $9.99?

Actually, WWE stock was around the 11-12 range at the beginning of the year and then had a ridiculous and massive ****e right as the network launched and ****ed to $30 in a matter of weeks, but then it cameback down to reality and it's original price of 11-12, and has since moved higher to around 14.

The only reason profits are down is because they spent 75million on the wwe network launch .. If you take that out of the equation then profits are fine.. Also they signed a tv deal that was less than they hoped for, but it was still a slight increase so it didn't effect profits...
The network has just under a million subscribers in the US, and just launched internationally.. Once wwe hits 1.4 million subscribers they would be in the best financial shape the company has ever been in.. 10-15 from now, the network is projected to have 3-8 million subscribers and would be generating insane amounts of cash.. That's why the wwe bit the bullet with the 75 million cost..
