This is a good thing, in theory. In no way should any boxing fan try to derail this or even talk bad about it

Plus not sure if NBC making anything other than the 20mil. Maybe taking the 20mil, giving 1-2 hour timeslot and walking away and seeing how he does. If successful then maybe they will want a piece. Thats just speculation though.

I like the idea. Helps the sport and gets the boxers recognition.

      Dont mess this up Haymon.
I'm really not sure what you mean by; "Thats less than 1 mil per, not all get paid 1 mil, since it appears he is paying a 20mm lump sum for the dates.

The gates cant be huge, and getting sponsers / advertisers is not an easy job. Especially in this environment, when advertisers are decreasing their budgets for network television, not increasing it. So everybody is fighting for a smaller pie.

Anyway, the point I was making was, its the fights that matter. Not the fact that its on NBC. If he dosent put on good fights, its all for not because nobody is tuning in over the long term for BS fights. Either way, I wish him the best. As a fan, I just want to see good fights.

The big guys were warned but they let themselves be impressed by the words Al spit out of his mouth and the stacks of money he put in front of them. "...and they worshipped the beast, saying, "who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?"

At the end of the day, he only has as much power as you give him! But what if you refuse to deal with him?

Boxing doesn't need Al to survive. It has been kept alive by the loyal die hard fans who fought through tough times and to keep it's essence and credibility alive.

Al is loosing credibility by the minute. Some of his top fighters are not living up to expectations. Even Floyd is saying "it's all an act to sell fights." So if Al tried to have a UFC type of brand/championship belt it would not be credible or recognized by the other professional governing bodies. They to will loose sanctioning fees.

Boycott before it starts! Otherwise you can expect Danny Swift Garcia barbie dolls and backpacks with illuminati symbols! All dazzled out and stuff!

Only 20 million for all his fighters he signed?

Haymon is smart. He's get all these fighters loyalty by getting them huge paydays and then once he get them on network television, pay them like UFC fighters.

Mayweather is going to be the last fighter to get big pay days in the double digit millions. Boxers are going to become more bland personality wise and have it get endorsements to every break a million.

Maybe Haymon can get Espinoza a job as jhon molinas water boy or something after he takes all his fighters from showtime. That or turn him into one of his "side pieces". I kid I kid

Has any network executive ever negotiated as disastrous a deal as Espinoza got for Showtime?

People are going to find this hard to admit but if this is true, it would be kinda awesome. Someone has needed to do this for years. This sport is too good (yes, with all its fault) to be hidden away on cable television.

If we get real match-ups then it could definitely be a great thing for the sport.

I would assume so too, but it's hard to see where the pay cheques will come from. Boxing moved to the premium cables for a reason.

NBC needs to put their foot down and say, "okay, you want to showcase your 15-0 or 15-1 fighter, well good. Then put him up against an 18-1 or 14-0 or at least a 15-2 fighter that has won 5-10 straight fights, NOT SOME DAMN 16-12 or 15-7 opponent!! *** that! That sht got old long ago!
since they are only selling the airtime to Haymon, odds are they will not have any editorial control over the actual bouts..........
