    if it's true about having their own title then they won't have to worry about purse bids anymore.;

The networks need to stop letting fighters keep their training wheels on for eternal gravy-train setups.
      if you want to make those fights openers on NBCsports, ok. but if that's asemi main or main I'm turning of and joining your petition.

      I mean how ****ing hard is it to put quality fights on. I understand the lawsuit now and the beef with ODH. fine, settle it move on.

          She's been with NBC for years, I'd be surprised if she didn't know what was going on.

          I'm guessing the risk involved will be minimal. He's not exactly known for risk.

          Keep in mind that Al's fighters are used to getting large checks, so unless they can get the advertisers, how are we to expect to see the Garcias and Broners on NBC?
          I don't see how this works for him either. But I assume he has a solid financial plan. Interesting to see how it all plays out.

            Isn't getting tv deals a "promoters" job? If so, what haymon is doing is illegal. And IMO the money is gonna come from floydies 200 mil contract from showtime.

                NBC has been beneficial for Kovalev, Rosado, Adamek, etc. I hope Haymon continues the trend. Not every match-up is going to be a home-run, but they need to have a purpose. Prospect vs. Prospect, title eliminators, veterans vs. up-and-comers, champion vs. contender are the types of match-ups that need to happen. Keep the showcase bouts to a minimum and this can work.

                  Agreed. The only thing I can think of would be that this is his Plan B since the GBP takeover was killed by Oscar. Haymon, had rasied the capital via Waddell and Reed and another fund whose name I cant remember, for the takeover, so its possible that the investment objective has shifted to grow Haymon Boxing, starting with getting dates on NBC and having the cash available to pay for his headliners.

                  Interesting to say the least.

                    Don King made $27.5 million from the MGM for securing Tyson to fight exclusively there.

                    I doubt Tyson ever saw any of that money.

                    There was a promoter who squeezed out every penny because it was mostly going to his pocket.

                      Hes supposedly paying 20 mil for 24 dates. Thats less than 1 mil per, not all get paid 1 mil, and from there you go get the sponsors, commercial money, and then gate. If you can hustle and make it a good product then companies will invest in your vision.

                      Plus not sure if NBC making anything other than the 20mil. Maybe taking the 20mil, giving 1-2 hour timeslot and walking away and seeing how he does. If successful then maybe they will want a piece. Thats just speculation though.

                      I like the idea. Helps the sport and gets the boxers recognition.

                      Dont mess this up Haymon.
