Marquez, Ortiz, Mosley, Cotto, Guerrero, Canelo, Maidana.

Vargas, Burton, Corrales*, C. Hernandez, Chavez*, Castillo* 2x, Sosa, N'Dou, Corley*, Bruseles, Gatti, Mitchell.

I mean you have Corrales, Castillo, Corley and Chavez who were good fighters at the time, legit threats(except for Corley who was heavy underdog but ended up being tough).

I want to know your answer for this so I can continue my debate.
Why are we leaving out 2006 and 2007?

Corrales, C.Hernadez, Chavez, Castillo x2, Judah, Hatton, Oscar

Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guererro, Canelo, Maidana x2.

    Not much difference at all.

I can guarantee that now that Floyd is done with Maidana and will move on to another style of opponent, fans will be in awe of how Floyd "Turned back the clock". It would be nice if he preferably did it against a fighter with handspeed/decent boxing ability like Pacquiao, Lara, Khan.

          Oh without any doubt.

I still think Floyd is the best fighter in the world. Don't get me wrong.

I just adknowledge that he's way, way, way passed his best.

Mayweather's longevity (and counting) is extremely impressive, IMO.

I'm not criticizing Floyd, like I said I'm just adknowledging that he's well well into decline and still declining. Which to me seems pretty damn obvious.

              C. Hernandez and Jesus Chavez stick out like a sore thumb. I think Chavez can only compare to Guerrero, and I think Guerrero is better. Chavez was a good top 10 guy though. C. Hernandez not much. Ortiz obviously turned out to suck.

Yes they will, and they will be wrong.

I believe if Floyd fights Danny Garcia for example he'd shut him out and look very impressive. He won't have "Turned back the clock" he's just fighting a favourable style. A guy who's going try and box and doesn't have the tools to compete with Floyd.

Much like Canelo and Guererro, for example. And people thought "Floyd's at his best right now" which was a laughable notion.

Whereas someone like Amir Khan will make Floyd look VERY old.

                Styles make fights, obviously.

In some cases, but he looked much sharper and better defensively in the older fights. The one big change I see is in his balance, the missed counterpunches, and reaction to avoiding punches.

Some of that could be Maidana's style but a lot it is Floyd's age and the years of fighting and sparring. It takes it's toll and Floyd has been very active the last two or three years.

Chavez was #3 and he's much better than Guererro.

C.Hernandez is more of a solid top 10 guy. And he's probably the same level as Victor Ortiz to be honest, and if he's not he's not too far behind.

Either way the opposition is pretty even. Like I said the 01-07 is probably better to be honest.

                      The guy even looks old.

                      nope

numbers dont lie...the Floyd we saw last night is much much better than the one that beat up on Chico and Gatti
