  • I can tell Floyd is ready to retire. He has little desire to fight imo. 2 more fights and Floyd is gone & I hope he stays retired.

    • He played it to win much more easily this time, he never let Maidana really build any momentum or really get into his fight at all. As Floyd fights on that is what will continue to happen and that will be good enough for the next year as long as he stays at 147.

Maidana fought great the first time but he is not really a great fighter (he is very good) so expecting him to turn in 2 exceptional performances in a row against a great fighter who knows how to do different things in the ring was asking an awful lot.

Floyd won, no one Is arguing that point. It does not take actual skill to grab and hold someone for 20 minutes out of a 36 minute fight.

Either way both will still make noise in the division.

          WAR Maidana!

          WAR Floyd!
sharp as ever I don't think so. Less than 5 years ago floyd would have toyed with this guy, but with aging floyd is definitely hittable now. If maidana had more speed he would have had a better chance.

          • I agree this was a C- performance from Mayweather. That punch at the end of the 3rd really rocked him but I'm impressed he was able to overcome it and get the W. He doesn't seem like the same fighter that made Canelo look like and amateur. He'll still beat most WWs and Jr MWs but he has to be careful one of these young guns don't take his "0". All the complaining tells me Mayweather silenced a lot of the detractors. They always complain the loudest when he wins in a dominant fashion.

            • Uh what did all sane boxing fans say :

The Gloves -,,,3rd Round Jr did the chicken dance at the end of the fight with a great chin shot by Maidana, without his gloves.

The REF : The Clear winner. Just like his teacher, ole Fair but Firm, lets break them before they get inside to fight. Pauli had it right, you could add 100 punches by Maidana on the inside,

              BUT

We KNEW that Jr had the Ref in his POCKET. SOME IDIOT name 5 times Jr was warned for too much holding,

              ok Name 4

              Name 3 ,,Name just ONCE

Jr's punches had zero effect, sorta slapping wide shots hahahaha like a sissy.

You got idiots like Kermit the Frog with his score card.

All of Showtime announcers or nearly all were speaking of Joys shots but just spoke a little of the Jabs by Maidana.

Who cried like a sissy ?? answer : JOY JR

Who had a big NOSE from the shots nobody spoke about and the fat lip ?? Answer : Joy did !! Maidana didn't have a mark.

Who was wore out like an old man.

Pac would KO Jr but Jr will tell Pac he can't have his gloves and if Pac says no fight yall will blame Pac just like you cried like sissys when Maidana wanted his commission approved gloves.

We won't see Joy beaten as long as he fights in Vegas with judges and Refs in his pocket, choosing his opponents, making Demands to suit him.

I will be glad when this fool leaves this sport. I will be interested to see what ALLRED with do with his azzzzzzzzz

If you honestly feel proud of that win, I feel sorry for you. I pity you bro. Floyd is looking so lame right now, it's not even funny. I watched the fight with a bunch of homies that said **** Lara, he ran from Canelo. And they had mad d1ck down their throats durning this bs fight. Couldn't even say nothing to defined it cuz they was slaying him and look what happened to tonight. I'm actually happy you paid $65 to see that fight. You're ****ing ******. That's good for you!

                • I thought a fighter was not permitted to clinch in boxing? Excessive clinching warrants a point deduction and disqualification if it persists...

Bayless gave Floyd how many warnings? When a fighter is holding the other fighter's arm..the fighter being held is permitted to use the free hand...

Bayless should be suspended and investigated for his impartial officiating... One of the most blatant instances of impartiality by a referee I've ever seen.

                  • Purely anecdotal but I have a feeling the PPV numbers will be worse than the first fight. I barely knew anyone that was planning on watching the fight and quite a few that were sitting this one out. Twitter seems dead talking about this one, NSB doesn't have the usual flood of people after a Floyd fight. Not much buzz before and after this one.

                    • Floyd's PPV numbers will start to crash and CBS/Showtime will have to absorb the hit. The only fight Floyd can sell is Pacquiao; otherwise, Floyd will be relegated to around the 600K mark.
