Comments Thread For: Mayweather Repeats, Decisions Maidana in Las Vegas

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - In a rematch of their May encounter, Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs) retained his WBC/WBA welterweight titles with a twelve round unanimous decision over Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs). The scores were 115-112, 116-111, 116-111. Mayweather won a twelve round majority decision the first time around. It was only the second rematch of Mayweather's career and the first for Maidana.

It was a feeling out round in the first, which Maidana likely edged. Maidana was applying a lot of pressure, being aggressive but nowhere near as reckless as he was in the first fight. Mayweather, as usual, was picking his shots and being very accurate in the second. Maidana was throwing flurries in the third, though most of the shots were missing. Mayweather was landing accurate shots in spots. But it was Maidana who hit Mayweather big with a right hand that shook him at the bell.

**** Bayless & **** Robert Garcia. Awful awful fight.
Mayweather is so beatable but Maidana came in so sluggish.

Unless it's Pacquiao, nobody gives a **** who he fights next.

Expected. Whoever really thought Floyd would lay on the ropes and lay maidana tee off on him again is a fool.

Floyd deserved the UD, but it would have been a closer fight if he didn't stall the fight with a bite story, clinch every time Maidana came close, and fell by his own cause twice. When Maidana was able to throw he tagged him several times, Mayweather deserved the win and looks sharp as ever, as I said he would, Maidana also looked good, using feints and good combinations and an improved defense.

Either way both will still make noise in the division.

            WAR Maidana!

            WAR Floyd!

what a snooze fest. if it weren't for maidana, the entire arena would've gone to sleep. bayless is so ******, it's obvious he got paid. why didn't he warn mayweather's excessive hugging, the fight was rigged.
