That's because boxing is unlike any other sport. Each contest is done on a contract basis and there's little regulation of it. Frankly there's next to no way for it to be regulated unless u try a Haymon esque takeover. And ppl dont like that either.

There's no damn process; Mosley and Ortiz have wore Grants from that fight on; he wanted 8 oz gloves for Cotto instead of 10 oz that didnt happen. They didn't have a problem with the brand Maidana wore until they was inspected after the weigh-in those custom gloves looked filmsy he should have got to wear the Red MX gloves.
