TS what you say about the gloves could very well be applied to Maidana, but Ortiz as well as Mosley have both used Grant gloves even after Mayweather. Ortiz against Collazo, and Mosley against Mora, Pacquiao, Cano, and Mundine.

      Fair.

But dude, Berto is chinny, Ortiz (yeah he has power I know) dropped him like a bad habit, he had shown a shaky chin throughout his career against mediocre opposition. Plus you suspect Golovkin of being on PEDs, when he has always been known for his power.

The issue seemed to be the padding itself, the way it was padded.
I believe Ellerbe's main issue was that he claimed the knuckles weren't padded correctly.

ALTHOUGH, the Everlast rep said the custom graphic Argentine gloves were padded the same exact way as the Red Everlast MX that were approved by commission but denied by TMT.

Glovegate isn't an issue for the rematch as the Maidana/Garcia camp know they're gonna be using Powerlocks ahead of time and not forced into them one day before the fight.

Mosley chose to wear Grant. Some guy that used to post a lot here with a Chico avatar(Forgot his name) was an Everlast rep with connections to some pretty high profile camps and I distinctively remember him saying Shane chose the Grants over the Everlast product.

Didn't know that, thanks for the info. Seems a strange choice by him after the way he blitzed Margarito in his previous fight.

suddenly powerful? marquez has 56 wins and 40 of the wins came by knockout.

marquez almost dropped pacquiao with that same right hand in the 6th round of the first fight.

marquez wobbled pacquiao with a left hook in the 2nd round of the 2nd fight.

the power been there, pacquiao just finally walked blindly into it in the 4th fight

I guess he sees the advantage in minor things like having a guy cut off two extra pounds, or wear certain type of gloves. The other boxers just didn't make an issue of it and agreed to his terms since they themselves didn't pay too much attention to the difference in gloves.

This happens all the time. Dealhoya required Hopkins to go down to 158, but B-Hop never made an issue of it.

Of course there is a pattern. Any slight advantage an opponent may have on him, he MUST remove if he feels threatened. He plays all his pieces in his favor. Even if in the end, the glove wouldn't have mattered so much, it's the fact that he already got into his opponents mind that they aren't using their normal comfortable glove and perhaps they can't do as much damage as they normally would.
Imagine, Mosley stunned Mayweather that bad without using his usual Reyes. Just a thought. lol.

Biggest punchers he's fought were Canelo, Cotto and Mosley. They all chose their own gloves. I really don't see a pattern.

When did I suspect Golovkin of being on PEDs? It's possible, but until he does random drug testing, some people will question his streak of KO's.

Berto is indeed a bit chinny, but the guys who have sent him to the canvas were dudes known for their power in particular. So Berto is not as chinny as he's made out to be.
