Because Edwin Rodriguez never fought anyone as good as DeGale that's why. Or do you think he'd beat DeGale?
Rodriguez is just average at best, he'll never be a champion. He doesn't have the tools. He was so crap against Ward it was unreal. Groves does everything better, except for taking a shot maybe
I really don't get how Edwin gets so much flack for losing the P4P #3 fighter in the world.
While rooting for Groves, I think Rodriguez can beat DeGale and it would be very close with Groves. I haven't sat down and thought about that fight actually until this thread.
But let me guess, according to you, Groves beats Rodriguez in the first round right?

When you let emotion overtake you, you've already lost.

He just wasn't worthy of the fight at all - neither was Groves, but at least he was mandatory.
I think both Groves and Degale beat Rodriguez yes. absolutely. Not sure about when or how, but I think both beat him as they are so much better.
yeah, great white british fighters like Khan, Haye, Lewis, Bruno, Benn, Eubank are always the loved ones
\
as far as i can tell, the most popular fighter with british casuals of all time is still henry cooper. that's generally who the pundits credit as the most popular.
"our 'enry."
the groves - froch fight was the biggest in british history, depending on how you judge "bigness."
ricky hatton was more popular than any of the darker complexioned brothers you mentioned, and he didn't even have a real british nemesis. eubank had benn, and lewis had bruno, which contributed to the popularity of their fights against each other.
it's well known that the brits love them a nice white limey. just embrace it, bro.

You're really reaching if you're serious with this stuff. Bruno was immensely popular as well - he's not exactly what you'd call white.
The biggest money fight before Froch-Groves was Haye-Harrison - not exactly whites. Before that, there was Bruno-Lewis and Eubank-Benn.
I think Britain has shown a fair bit of impartiality throughout their modern fighting history - much moreso than America.
