Well said he cant even be considered better than pavlik and miranda at this point and honestly I'm not sure he beats either of them in their primes, prime for prime I think pavlik stops him.

In my time as a fight fan, I've seen Roy Jones, Hopkins, and Toney. All were quite a bit better than GGG, IMO.

Depends on your definition of "better." At this stage of his career, GGG isn't as accomplished as Pavlik. Even though I think GGG is a better fighter.

At this point in his career pavlik was a much more accomplished fighter than ggg having beaten the likes of a prime jermain taylor and edison miranda. I say pavlik would have beaten and probably stopped him because of his toughness, durability and chin. In my opinion gggs biggest asset is his power I don't see anything else that really stands out, no exceptional offense or defense and power alone wont beat pavlik as he proved with miranda.

Miranda was bouncing bombs off of pavliks head and he just kept coming forward showing no affect from the punches. I believe miranda was a bigger puncher than ggg and I will tell you why, and he couldn't get the job done. Miranda was a known one punch ko artist the only fighter ggg has flattened like that is the japanese fighter, most of his victories have come from punch accumulation wearing fighters down within the distance, he is not this killer that they make him out to be, a hard puncher but not a devastating puncher. I also think pavlik punches just as hard if not harder than ggg.


Miranda was a bigger puncher than ggg and his bombs had no effect whatsoever on pavlik and I don't see ggg being able to hurt or keep pavlik off of him either. I think a fight with ggg and pavlik follows the same pattern pretty much with ggg expending energy trying to ko pavlik while pavlik slowly chops him down because of fatigue, discouragement and from eating bombs himself. I think pavlik walks him down bust him up and stops him in the late rds. Let's not forget they were saying pretty much the same thing about pavlik and miranda at this point in their careers and comparing them to all time greats, while not really being tested or proven themselves, until they upped their level of competition and were eventually undressed by superior fighters like hopkins, and pavlik in the case of miranda.

If you dont see the difference between caveman Miranda (with 0 top ten wins) , basic double-jab Pavlik, and a guy with elite amateur background like ggg, i dunno what to tell you bud
