Canelo fans blaming Lara for the poor PPV sales

Canelo is not the star he thinks he is. Canelo didn't look spectacular in the ring as well against Lara, he looked lost in there. The great red head Mexican hope is coming to a end soon.

give me an estimate for a cotto-lara ppv... i mean cotto fights for a MW title to maravilla and is less than canelo coming off a loss vs angulo coming off a loss...

just keep in mind the words that glazzier uses Isn't verified, I'm hearing, Will get an accurate number... he wouldnt even said he has a source...
i will said lets wait until he gets his accurate numbers...

These type of fights don't belong on PPV
These types of fights? These were the best two fighters in the division. A highly anticipated fight from boxing fans. There was a nice undercard as well. I hope this fight did better than those numbers, cause if those are the numbers then its a true reflection on boxing more so than this one fight.

Decent numbers, that's what Canelo pulls right now. Lara didn't bring much in terms of fans.

Can't blame Lara, Canelo is just not on Pac/Floyds level where he can carry and get good PPV Numbers by himself.

Floyd was born in America, his parents were born in America and his grandparents were born in... America. He is American with a darker complextion than white people, he isn't african in any sense of the word.

Let's hope fights like these are on regular HBO or SHO next year. Keep in mind we still have PPVs for Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, and Cotto left this year. And a potential Chavez PPV.

lol not quite yet but Canelo is only starting. What PPV numbers did Pacquiao and Mayweather do at 23 years old?

Floyd's first PPV fight came at 28 years old and he was the B-side to Arturo Gatti, his next PPV fight was at 30 years old and again he was the B-side to Oscar De La Hoya.

Pacquiao's first PPV fight came at 27 years old and he was the B-side.

Cotto/Martinez was not hyped much at all. Someone brought up the World Cup, Cotto was up against the Triple Crown horse race, which somehow got more coverage than the fight. Also, the Stanley Cup finals were being played in the same stadium where Cotto was fighting and went into double overtime. I don't think this affects the fighters, but it certainly lowers the coverage the fight would have gotten had neither of those events been happening.

I don't think I ever saw one commercial plugging Cotto/Martinez, but I know I saw a few of the Canelo/Lara ones during some games I was watching. I'm actually surprised that the number was this low given that it seemed advertised more than the Cotto fight was. It doesn't help either that in his biggest showing against Mayweather he looked like an amateur in there, especially compared to how he was matched up to look like a monster on Floyd's undercards.

Not just that cotto vs martinez also went up against a free mma card they were showing on tv.
