Canelo vs Cotto needs to happen now; only a fool believes they are getting the Cinco De Mayo date next May. Floyd has to die for that to happen; people already think he's fighting Manny in May and if Chino beats him the the 3rd fight becomes even bigger. My only thing with Canelo going forward as far as PPV numbers is once the Cotto's & Floyds of the world are gone which will be sooner rather than later and his insistance he's not going to 160. Who will fight on PPV to do big numbers? The Young Guns of the divison aren't ie Julian Williams or Errol Spence; The Charlo's aren't any bigger than what Lara is right now. Andrade numbers would be worse than the Lara fight unless one the 147 make a big name soon non of them are offer a huge event.

Against someone like Lara, that's pretty good.

April PPV - Pacquiao vs Bradley
May PPV - Mayweather vs Maidana
June PPV - Cotto vs Martinez
July PPV - Canelo vs Lara
        Aug PPV (none)

Sep PPV - Mayweather vs Maidana II
Nov PPV - Pacquiao vs Algieri
Dec PPV possibly Cotto or another Canelo fight.

Lets not hope Marquez vs Garcia gets made because that too might get thrown as a PPV.

        am I forgetting one?
You make a good point. I'm not buying anymore unless it's Canelo vs Cotto. Even if I make a decent living, I'm not going to spend that much on boxing every month.

          Mike monetized his brand...

          Mike Tyson's punch out
          Pepsi commercials
He had a lot more major endorsement deals.. Floyd has none...

All Floyd has is his tmt clothing, failed record label, failed soda company..

Mike just fell off because of the robin givens, Mitch green street fight, buster, **** conviction, ear biting, etc..
Floyd is squeaky clean compared to mike

              Not a bad number actually.
All of the reasons provided by previous posters may contribute to the lower expected number.

              1) Boxing Fans are PPV-fatigued (way too many)
              2) Takes two marquee stars to make a blockbuster PPV (Lara doesn't draw)
              3) Canelo is not drawing from the American PPV base (excluding Mexican-American)
              4) World Cup Event
              5) Summer generally not the best PPV draw season.

For those of you who think this is a failure and that Canelo is not a draw, then look at Cotto-Martinez PPV. It did 350k. By that argument, Cotto is NOT a draw as well. I mean he fought Martinez for a MW LINEAL belt.

I'm right about his first PPV coming at the age of 28 and him being a B-side.

Canelo is way ahead of both Mayweather and Pacquiao when comparing like for like.

Pacquiao of course had it tougher being neither Mexican nor American but he was very exciting and came to fight.

Give him a minute. He needs some exciting opponents. Kirkland is a good choice.

                  dud.
And King Lara brought in half those buys, because he is a star and fans love that cuban style.

Those #s suck. Canello is a great b side opponent like JMM but he's not capable of starring as the ppv main guy.

I think 300k is a great number on this fight since Lara is relatively unknown.
