Those numbers aren't that bad knowing that Lara isn't popular to your average boxing fan.

Those numbers are bad for canelo.. The only major PPv fights to do worse that I can recall are Hopkins-Dawson, morales-Maidana, Shane-Sergio..

If this had been Canelo's first PPv the numbers would be considered a success but since this is his 3rd straight, and he has been in a record breaking PPv already, and in the other he looked like a million bucks, his fight with Lara should have done more.. Floyd-baldomir/Judah/gatti all did much more, and that was before Floyd was a superstar..

No way should the Lara fight do less than the angulo fight, especially since angulo brings the same fanbase and not a different one.. I think the way Floyd dominated canelo, really hurt his hype and superstar status with casual fans..
Had he lost an exciting fight like Maidana did, I think canelo would be doing much bigger PPv numbers now

The Canelo hype died down alot when Floyd schooled him. The ginger needs Cotto or Floyd again to do good #s.

If Cotto/Kirkland is in October... then Jan, Feb and August will be the only Non-PPV fights this year

Its alright numbers, but Canelo is supposedly supposed to be the #3 highest draw.
He is when you think about it cotto Martinez only got like 400000 and that fight was hyped to **** and cotto's got a big name and Martinez had the Chavez Ppv's to build on so he wasn't unknown and if canelo could pull in 300,000 -350,000 thousand fighting a unknown Cuban runner then yeah he's a draw.

What did some of you expect?? First of all it takes two to tango to make great numbers. Even though Canelo has become a big name in boxing big he's still not a mainstream fighter in America and Lara is NOT a marquee fighter so I'm not surprised to see those numbers.
