However that was the first round,Wlad was an offensive machine before Manny and if Briggs jumped on him ,wlad would have done the same.Briggs was fast and a decent fighter with decent power,he was not a 6'6 240 pound elite one though.i would take fighters who sparred with both some have said Wlad taking the place of vitali that night would have k.od lewis.

When does Wlad throw looping overhand rights? He doesn't. Fury in his arrogance had no respect at all for Cunningham or his power and was justly clipped. These are elements that he has since removed from his game. Fury is a young fighter who hasn't reached his ceiling yet.Comment

TOS was obliterated by baby Messi in a single round
Wlad couldn't drop or hurt him.
Janitor Jennings was heavily dropped by journeyman bum Toupou.
Wlad couldn't drop or hurt him .
What did these guys have in common? They both had decently functioning legs and were able to generate some basic lateral/in n out movement. Wlad's predictable 1-2s can't connect on moving targets.
Fury presents the movement and has a few extra dimensions to his game that neither of those fighters possessed.Comment

Fury doesn't get any respect. It's pathetic.TOS was obliterated by baby Messi in a single round

Wlad's power in general is vastly overrated. Or rather, I should say, his heavy handedness and ability to cause concussive damage are. Which is to say that he's more than capable of knocking opponents out, but it's not automatically lights out whenever he lands.TOS was obliterated by baby Messi in a single round

People love to bring up the fact that if Cunningham was able to drop Fury then Wlad could surely knock him out. Might I mention that this was the same reasoning in the lead up to the Haye fight, where most everyone picking Wlad was picking him by knockout, because Haye of course had a terrible chin and was dropped by Lolenga Mock and Monte Barrett. Needless to say, it didn't work out that way, even though Wlad managed to get a number of good shots in on Haye's china chin.
Fury's the next in line to supposedly experience the treatment. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Fury takes a flush right hand from Wlad without getting dropped. Plenty of other fighters did.Comment

Completely agree. Wlad is a hard puncher no doubt, and when he really goes for it he's a one punch guy, but the vast majority of his KO's come after round upon round of poking, prodding and clinching.Wlad's power in general is vastly overrated. Or rather, I should say, his heavy handedness and ability to cause concussive damage are. Which is to say that he's more than capable of knocking opponents out, but it's not automatically lights out whenever he lands.

Its all a part of the zero risk/ zero entertainment policy that we all know and love from Wlad.Comment

You do realize that a less than steller version of Briggs took Vitali the full monty. Briggs also had decent foot speed. His biggest problem was his wind in the later rounds. I don't really get how people can say Vlad is a counter puncher (Elroy) or that Vlad was a terminator when guys attacked when precident suggests that Vlad does neither. I have never seen Vlad counter punch and the Sam Peter fight could in many ways be compared to Briggs. I honestly don't see it. Why didn't he jump on Sam Peter? However that was the first round,Wlad was an offensive machine before Manny and if Briggs jumped on him ,wlad would have done the same.Briggs was fast and a decent fighter with decent power,he was not a 6'6 240 pound elite one though.i would take fighters who sparred with both some have said Wlad taking the place of vitali that night would have k.od lewis.Comment

Good post. Fury also possesses the power to drop Wlad with one shot. Wlad will be tested. If he doesn't have the mental toughness to keep his composure and fight for his life when Fury takes away his jab and bullies him, he is going to get hurt badly and possibly stopped.Wlad's power in general is vastly overrated. Or rather, I should say, his heavy handedness and ability to cause concussive damage are.
