I wouldn't praise Lara for running but I would still say he won. The thing about body shots is that you can never tell how effective they are by the way they landed. People look at the fighter's face or his reactions but outside of one or two instances, Canelo's body shots were no different than anyone else's. Don't try and tell me he was 'ravaging' the body when he was landing 4-5 effective body shots per round, most of which didn't have any immediate effect on Lara. You can't guess that one boxer's body shots were really hard and give him a specific round even though he was outlanded at the time.

Lara ran but he landed the cleaner shots in more of the rounds and deserved the win. I won't say robbery though. Far from it. It was still a close fight and my opinion is just that.

Who cares what supporters of running in boxing think, they are being biased anyway. I like Track and Field, but not in boxing or any physical combat sort. Lara lost and Alvarez almost started to have to take off his gloves and put is running shoes on and just make a track meet. Runner, runner, runner I thought your pants were on fire, hahaha, come on and box dude.

This is why boxing eventually will go down the toilet. This kind of decisions like Garcia over Herrera , Bradley over Pac , Paul Williams over Lara and now Canelo over Lara is what makes you want to puke .
No way in he'll did Canelo Win this fight. He landed nothing clean or of consequence , punching air all night long and gets the win. Disgraceful. Another black eye for boxing.
And yes Lara should have thrown more punches, but he still outlander Canelo and hit him with the cleaner more telling blows all night.

i had it a draw....they did the same thing to lara what they did to de la hoya aginst trinidad... runners dont get no love on the scorecards.

The only time Lara "ran" was in the round he was cut in and the one aftetwards. I was rooting for Canelo and thought that the breaking down of Lara was complete and he wad about ready to go. But after that, Nelo did nothing and it was Lara that dug deep and won the last third of the fight. People always confuse boxing-n-moving with "running." People almost have the attitude that anybody can win like that. That is a very hard way to fight for 12rds, especially with someone ****ing you to the body. Go back and look at the Chico Corrales-Popo fight. Go back and watch the fight Cotto-Margarito fight. Those are examples of guys who aren't natural movers trying to use that style for a night.

You can tell by Canelos body language after the fight that he felt he lost! He was missing all night and seemed frustrated at moments. I know some of you will say Lara ran even doe it's called footwork in a "boxing" ring and still he out landed Canelo. What's worse is Canelos post fight interview. The guys attitude is like vomit. Don't worry tomorrow your face is going to look like a "runner" ran all over it
