It's clear Espinoza is influenced more by Team Haymon than Showtime. They have Showtime fooled so bad, they hope to get CBS in the mix for deeper pockets.

if espinoza is trying to convey he has a say on who floyd fights, then he is a liar..."If it wasn't profitable then we wouldn't be going into direct rematch 4 months later". Espinoza trying to imply he actually has a say in who Floyd is going to fight. Look, Marcos did better than everyone thought and it wasn't a snoozer but the last half of the fight was one-sided and there's no need to see it again. Catching the Showtime replay this time around.
floyd says he is his own boss....or is floyd the liar?Comment

i think you have a very bad set of parameters on determining the legacy of these people...BALCO labs destroyed a lot of legacies. Barry Bonds, Marion Jones & her ex-husband, and Shane Mosely. Will they remember the home runs, the gold medals, the wins over De La Hoya? What will be Manny Pacquiao's legacy? The 8 division championships? The wars with Juan Manuel Marquez? Or the blood testing issue and Freddie Roach's admission that Alex Ariza was "shady?" In the end, Floyd Mayweather will be remembered not for his "in the ring" physical prowess (even though 46-0 is ridiculous), but his "outside the ring" business savvy. He developed the business model to turn fighters from employees to employers. He made his master a slave as he went from slave to master. You can hate his persona all day and night, but he is still the greatest boxer of our time.
for example, for pac - his achievements as 8 div champion, fotd, foty for so and so etc that are etched in boxing history will not be overshadowed by baseless accusations or hearsay....
and you clearly contracdict yourself abot floyd's legacy;

No it doesn't. They are not grouped together with the theater sales. As for the question I have heard MGM alleviates a lot of the costs, so there are at least some costs.Comment

LOL. If there is "so much misinformation out there," why does not this ****er release detail of the profit. And why the ****ing delay in coming out now. What a ****ing Bull****erContrary to widespread industry rumors, Showtime Sports head Stephen Espinoza, the May 3rd bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana was not a financial failure for his network.
Espinoza, while not disclosing the exact details regarding the pay-per-view numbers and the profits, rejects any claims that a bundle of money was lost on the show. According to industry sources, the PPV generated between 830-900,000 pay-per-view purchases. The show sold 15,718 tickets for a live gate of $15,024,400.
