Yes "hit and don't get hit" is one mindset of boxing, but the mindset I'm interested in is the

" I'm not a *****, I'm here to fight and I'm here to prove without any doubt i'm better than you" mindset.

I'm a fight fan, I come to see a fight. I come to see 2 warriors refusing to back down, not one guy going backwards the entire fight and one guy chasing the entire fight. Why the **** is that wrong?

Boxing is one thing, Not taking a single step forward is another.

Its wrong because you don't respect guys who choose to box. Everyone has an individual prefrence. You don't have to like watching a particular style. But you should respect them all and not let personal preference dictate how you judge close fights.

Roach gets/takes way too much credit for the performances of fighters who were already good when he got them. I have never heard him take the blame for when his fighters under-perform. In those instances we only get b.s. excuses.

Algieri didnt run,,, Ruslan just kept coming straight forward and was getting tagged..

Ruslan seemed to hit a wall half way thru the fight, and lost all explosiveness on his punches..

Algieri boxed beautifully, used great lateral movement, took some hard shots but fired right back and really let his hands go and dared to be great, and it paid off for him...

Algieri didnt fight scared and didnt run... He was boxing and was the matador to ruslan's bull

Even the HBO announcers were getting too obsessed over Ruslan's power. Most of the rounds Algieri did well they hardly even acknowledged it. Algieri would throw 4 punch combinations and they would note only Ruslan's 1 punch.

It was a close fight that I scored for Algieri but Ruslan needs to quiet down. This isn't a tough man competition where you just stand there and slug.

Just because they don't like watching that style, doesn't mean you don't respect them. As far as judging fights, all that is subjective. Everybody sees a boxing fight differently. Some will reward the more aggressive fighter, and some will reward the fighter that controls the fight and lands cleaner punches. I mean, if you are "judging" and giving your opinion on the fight, personal preference will always play a role.

You could flip it around both ways. There are people who don't like watching brawlers or respect them. Im sure personal preference has dictated their judging as well

I can't stand that from that style of boxer. Everyone runs because they don't stand directly in front of you throwing bombs.

Don't be a sore loser, Ruslan. He was hurting you with some of those body shots.

Chris was just too American, too slick for the Russian monster last night.

How is it that a fighter at such a high level can have such a low fight IQ ? There is a difference between running and boxing which Ruslan doesn't seem to understand. You cant expect to be out landed 4 to 1 and win a decision because you're one landed shot was powerful. It doesn't work that way, well at least not to most. That judge who scored it so wide for Provodnikov should be brought out back and shot.
