algeri boxed nice, but he ran like a chicken (Ruben Guerrero voice) all night long. I had it originally for Provodnikov but ended up changing it to a draw, and cant see 8 rounds for Algeri

Provodnikov won round 12 going away but one judge actually gave that round to Algieri. There was no way Algieri won that round. It should have been 10-9 for Provodnikov. Had that judge scored the round correctly, his score card would have been 113-113 and the fight is a draw.

I'm Russian so I was very dissapointed with the way Ruslan fought.
I agree with that rule - challenger has to take it from the Champ. That's exactly what Algieri did - he threw more punches and landed more. His punches wasn't that hard - well that would count if there was less difference in volume.
After Alvorado fight I thought that Ruslan improved a lot. Not the case in this fight.

To me he always was by far the weakest champ in the GGG, Kovalev, Provodnikov trio. He had list impressive amateur background and list impressive skill set. Worst thing is he has the lowest boxing IQ of them all.
I was a bit surprised when he suddenly become so popular around here but never expected him to last long unless he really improves on his weak points.

What worries me is that it seems that he just doesn't realise what he is doing wrong:

In the 1st when he was following the game plan: Cut off the ring, move your head, attack the body as soon as in position to land. It was working very well.
After early success he went back to Provodnikov we saw on ESPN. Follwoing the guy with arms low, hoping to catch the guy with one big shot. Barely moving his head and doing very little in the ring. Throwing the same punch/combo with very little variations.
Both GGG and Kovalev are very different (althought they have different styles of fighting). They work steadily on creating opportunities. Both try to be first and throw many different punches with very good technique and timing.

I don't know if he can comprehand the reality and become a better fighter. To do that he have to change a lot in his game. Sad thing is that in rare momets he shows that he can actually do things the right way. Problem is boxing IQ. His perception of reality in the ring was way off today.

I think it would do Provo a lotta good to leave Roach. IMO it is very hard to have any kinda sustained success at the highest level of the sport if you're not a priority to your trainer. Roach has become too big a star in his own mind to priortize Provo. And last night's result probably drops him down even lower on Roach's priority list.

Thousand to one eh Provo? Get back to FNFs where you belong. Plodding brawler, no boxing skills, just a hard head and an ok puncher. Yeah, that's gonna win every time. HA! Wow, this goofball needs to go back to Ice Cube Central. Load up on snowball soup.

Paulie looked OK, but hit and run isn't what I like. Boxing is a spectator sport, I'm not willing to pay to get bored to bed.

That is Every Brawlers Excuse when they get out-boxed though what else is new. Stats say different, he threw more and landed more if I am not mistaken

I felt Ruslan did enough to edge it in a close fight. Algeri showed immense heart and boxing skill but to pretend that he put on a clinic and pretty much didn't lose a round after the first is silly.

Ruslan Profraudnikov you got taken to school. Another Freddie the joke coach Roach fighter getting embarrassed by a guy who can box and move.

Funnily enough, if it wasn't for the 1st round, Provo might have gotten his as$ combed. Imagine what could have happened if this tall, good looking kid full a heart had both eyes and no damage suffered from Provo's lucky 1st round.
