There is no way GGG would stop Cotto. Knocking out C-level fighters is not the same as beating an A-level fighter. We have no idea how GGG would do against an A-level fighter because he has never fought one. GGG even turned down an offer from Lara to fight him.
I agree that there would be a lot more money for Cotto against Alvarez and his next fight should either be against Alvarez or Mayweather. If he lost either one of those fights, he could retire with a record purse.
86% of Nsb disagree. The huge majority has ggg knocking out Cotto
That makes him a diva? Put his resume up and decide if he hasn't earned it. If he doesn't ask or demand for himself, who will?
Yes when he belly aches about money that does make him a bit of a diva, plus he's publicly stated he's a believer in the A/B sides of things and to me that's primadonna stuff.
To be honest I believe that all boxers are getting paid too much. I can understand soccer, football, basketball, and baseball players making their millions per year because they are top tier sports in America and the world but boxing is not a top tier sport but its fighters expect to be paid like they are in a top tier sport. I think fighters see other athletes and other fighters making big money and naturally they too want to make big money, but in their pursuit of big money fights they stop fighting. Prime example is Amir Khan, Andre Ward. I'd rather my favorite fighter make less money but fight more often than have my favorite fighter fight rarely but make big money.
Acting like a Diva has caused his to lose millions of dollars and miss out on the prime fighting and money earning years of his career.

He's wasting away his prime with his inactivity. I wonder whether he blames Goossen for opponents not agreeing to every demand he makes, and therefore fights not getting made?
Does anyone know what his complaint of Goossen actually is?
If its his lack of marketability then he should be suing his boring style, inability to compromise and tedious personality.
Ward is clearly number 2 behind Mayweather and receives less than many fighters he's clearly better than. He should be paid more and that's just the truth when you compare what other fighters get. It's up to your promoter to promote you in a way that get's you the big bucks. Otherwise they should let you go. Al Haymon could promote a goat and fill the seats but Goosen doesn't know how to promote Ward is crazy.

Actually he hasn't earned it because if he had we wouldn't be having this conversation. Boxing is a business, this is a reality. Sure he's earned the right to be considered one of the best but earning that and actually earning big pay days are separate things. You can't just expect it.
There's nothing at 175 for him outside of Kovalev since the other light heavyweights are over on HBO's rival network. So staying at 168 for now is a good idea.
Again. This is such a BS argument. The guy can move up and move back down depending on the fight and the money. He doesn't have to be stuck there. Many, many great fighters have done this.
as opposed to what you're doing now? huge step up.
largely inactive vs. largely inactive with a W over kovalev. kovalev is one of the two best LHW on the planet right now, and would be one of, if not ward's biggest wins.
you shouldn't be thinking about the "then what's," andre. not for this fight, anyway.
the only issue i would think he'd have would be weight. he is the lineal champion at 168. there's value in that. he woulnd' tbe the lineal champion at 175, and who knows if stevenson will fight him.
he should take this fight if they offer solid money [2+ million. he made 2 million against rodriguez.]
hbo will be really cracking the bank for one fight, but i think they'd do it. 2 and some change for andre, and a mill and change for kovalev.
Andre should hang around super middleweight for a while longer. Business is about to pick up and all roads lead to him, no one can claim they are the best as long as he is around. Not without beating him first.
The guys with the 4 belts all lost to Ward in the past, and it doesn't really stop them from advancing their careers now. These guys can fight each other, or Chavez, Golovkin, Kessler, Groves. That's a lot of opportunities, a lot of potential paydays. Ward is one of the smartest in the sport inside the ring but outside of the ring he needs to realise that nobody is going to come looking to fight him anytime soon. Maybe he does realise it which is why he wants to get rid of Goosen and replace him with someone who can get his career back to where it was.
