Kovalev KOs Andre and his suspect chin no doubt about it...that hitting and clinching style won't work against a much bigger, stronger man...

LOL Earth to Andre...Andre, wake up call...reality check..no fight with you is a PPV fight...you whiny Diva pos...You have a boring hit and clinch style...

    ...

Ward should be dropped from the pound for pound list..he has fought two opponents in 3 years...one was a weight drained and shot Dawson who will never be the same since he drained himself to make 168 because Ward was too pus to move up...and the media and racist fans gave him a pass on it (but wouldn't have if Pacquiao did that)

I'm not demanding any fight with you, Andre, because you refused to take less money to fight Froch in the U.K.

    You don't leave Cali...

You were the only one to never fight outside the U.S. for the Super 8 Tourney...

You are everything that is wrong with boxing..you are this new age boxer who has to act like a Diva and never take any challenges you aren't extremely comfortable with...
Didn't he enter the Super 8, and win? So now he's supposed to go to other fighters' backyard as champion? And he should move up in weight too? Well the cold war is over, let's see if Manny asks for Canelo @ 154 in Texas. It would be a HUGE fight at Jerry's world (Manny already fought there). Would that be OK? Do you think TR would let that happen?

      Ward deserves more

Ward is clearly number 2 behind Mayweather and receives less than many fighters he's clearly better than. He should be paid more and that's just the truth when you compare what other fighters get. It's up to your promoter to promote you in a way that get's you the big bucks. Otherwise they should let you go. Al Haymon could promote a goat and fill the seats but Goosen doesn't know how to promote Ward is crazy.

            Lets go with that.
Fans are fickle and Ward is aware of this. That's why he's trying to get big fights and only big fights right now. So you say he would receive his regular check but get massive credit? I call false on the latter. He convincingly beat a who's who of super middleweights and watched every name fighter near him move as far away from his as possible. And what's the fan's reaction? "Suck it up and move up a division for little gain!" "Too bad for you ah-ha!" Just weirdness.

What's strange to me is that GGG is a viable opponent for Ward with potential for a decent purse in an MSG showdown. And could just as easily move up to fight Ward because he's sort of in a similar situation as him at 160. Yet the fans make excuses as to why he shouldn't do that and Ward should. Except one has accomplished much much more than the other who is given the benefit of the doubt. Yeah if I'm Ward at this stage, I'd be more concerned with a massive check for my family than getting "massive credit" from the fans.

i would give ward the edge as well but i don't think he will win comfortably. although kovalev's power is his best weapon, the guy has a very good jab too. he actually sets his combinations with a jab. we're used to seeing kovalev getting reckless and just walk down his opponents but he will treat a ward fight differently imo.

That makes him a diva? Put his resume up and decide if he hasn't earned it. If he doesn't ask or demand for himself, who will?

Fans want competitive fights. Andre doesn't get it. There just isn't a demand to see him box Chavez or Froch on PPV because most of us don't think it's a great event and Ward will just out box them. A fight vs Chavez makes no sense for anyone except Andre Ward. PPV fights have to be looked at by the public as competitive and good fights with decent odds if we're going to pay $70 to see it. Ward and whoever manages him are very out of touch.

but how's that been working for him?
That's not my problem. I'm just a fan from the outside looking in. When he returns to the ring, I will start watching again. Until then, he's not relevant to me.

Didn't Ward get 3 million for facing a complete nobody in Rodriguez? Maidana got 1.5 million when he won the supposed 'Mayweather lottery' and Martinez got the same to face the '3rd biggest draw in boxing' Miguel Cotto. If anything, Ward is being overpaid for doing next to nothing these past years. He's not a draw and he has to accept that, he should actually feel lucky he's gotten some big purses and allowed to have homecourt advantage even over fighters who bring in more money than him during the Super 6.
