Roach was right, Martinez boxing wasn't anything compared to Cotto's. He was taking him to school, even when Martinez recovered.
I agree with you. That left hook landing was the first thing I noticed, as if Martinez never planned on neutralizing it in sparring, especially considering Cotto is known for it.
On 24/7, I saw Sarmiento reviewing the Pac fight, and probably only reviewed the fights where Cotto was pummeled. But forgot to review the fights where Cotto ended fights with that same left hook.

I just read that Martinez went to the hospital and suffered a broken nose and possible concussion but nothing was wrong with his shoulder, knee or hand.

        Hmmmm, but I'm the dumb.ass.

That's where we differ, he was landing but it WAS NOT the power that was the differencial IMO.

His balance was making the difference, glancing blows ESPECIALLY the 2nd & 3rd KD were pathetic.

He didn't look buzzed or hurt, he just looked crippled.

        So shhhh

Yet nothing was wrong with the knee....

So I guess the hospital is lying, and he's covering up being injured. The truth is, Martinez is not the same fighter as he once was, but we saw the decline against Murray and Jr.

Saying that, to discredit Cotto the way you are trying to do shows why you are in the red and are a troll that has nothing better to do with his life.

Cotto took Martinez to school, it was a masterful performance and I give full credit to Cotto for his performance and the way he came in shape.

Cotto took it right to Sergio's right shoulder and moved up and in and punched and no one has done that to him since Margarito. He beat a very disturbed Pavlik years ago and I think Pavlik beats him if he could have duplicated his stature when he was moving up prior to his troubles.
I don't see boxing or fighting skills in Sergio I see a good athlete who fought nobodies coming up and was moved very carefully by Debella with plenty of caution. They had GGG contract in front of them for a long time and could have unified the title but wanted NOTHING to do with a guy who could punch and was willing to attack aggressively.
Fighting someone like Junior just took cautious planning hell Junior doesn't even jab at all. Then Junior gets him in trouble after getting out boxed for 11 rounds!
Sorry Sergio fans this guy reminds me of a guy like Haye, they want the laurels and attention, this guy knew he couldn't perform but took the peoples money then backed out of the presser. He was a disgrace and it should be told he was not a high caliber competitor or a respectful man to the public. He took his money and ran, good bye! He did all these things and theres no debate about it. Call it as it came down, Cotto exposed this guy for what he was a B- boxer. Plus give credit to Freddy for finding the direction and focuss Cotto needed to train hard and fight hard. He deserves to be acknowledged for a great job preparing Cotto. Ray.
Inexperienced P.Will? If P.Will was inexperienced then what was Martinez? Get your old ass outta here man. And lol @ you bringing up the Margarito loss while trying to discredit everything Martinez accomplished in his career.

You know, as an ex fighter or trainer or whatever the fk you were, I expected better from you. But you're probably just bitter that an unorthodox fighter accomplished more than you did. Since you're always trying to preach some fundamentals bull****.

My whole point revolves around his knee being bust up PRIOR to this fight and DURING so I have no idea what you are talking about when you say...

              In short:

If you make a comprehensive report against a CRIPPLED fighter, it just shows you lack intelligence because the data is NULL & VOID.

I will take all credit away from Cotto as he was fighting a dead man.

This is worse than Pac vs Oscar IMO

                Great post Cuauhtémoc1520.
That left hook in the first round that sent Sergio to the ropes was what made him look like a cripple. I didn't see it as Sergio being a cripple though , he was just out of his league.

Cotto brought his A game and was even making adjustments in the later rounds with the counter straight-rights.
Rarely do we as boxing fans get treated to such beautiful performances.

Im not making any excuses cause I did pick Cotto by late stoppage. It varies case by case but just cause your knee is "fine" or healed it doesnt mean it is necessarily 100%.
