A smaller fighter, who according to everyone here, is just a hype job.

Is Degale only a step back because he lost once? Can't be any worse than Edwin

Geale is a top 5-10 fighter at middleweight. Everyone's been saying for months how Golovkin needs to fight the best middleweights. That's what Geale is.

Golovkin can't exactly pick and choose who among the best he wants to fight. Geale finally accepted and that's what we're getting. Who else should he fight in the division?

Wtf. Who else is he supposed to fight? Yes, Geale lost to Barker but it was a close fight and Barker is a solid fighter. This fight serves as another scalping for GGG because he is a notch above the other MW.

Sturm has lost. Sergio was just destroyed. Barker has retired. Quillin fight isn't happening. GGG already destroyed Macklin. Where the hell is Martin Murray? I think Geale is clearly the best fighter available and the best fight of Golovkins professional career.

Who do you want him to fight instead?

Sorry all if I've come across as a hater, i will sing golovkins praises if and when he fights an elite-level fighter.
He's said he would like to fight Ward. It's hard for anyone to fight Ward right now when Ward is suing his promoter and Goosen isn't entertaining offers, apparently.

Golovkin will end up moving up this year or very early next, I think. He won't have a choice. His people have talked with Kessler's about a fight.

Who at 160 could GGG beat and be given any credit?

Geale is Ring #2 right now which is a higher rated MW than anyone Martinez defended against his entire reign. Barker and Murray were #10, Chavez 3 or 4, Macklin around 5. For GGG Proksa was 10, Stevens 8-10, Macklin 5, Geale 2.

Geale is a tough out for anyone, and is the best available mw for ggg to fight..

serg, murray, sturm, etc they have all been offered the fight in the past and all have passed on it for the last few years...

So GGG is stuck either going up in weight, or staying at mw and fighting the 2nd tier guys like geale..

Geale is no slouch and he will make ggg work, and will test ggg's stamina and endurance as i see geale being able to go deep into the fight..

He fought once since the Barker fight. A tuneup fight. Golovkin's options are limited at 160. Geale is probably the best opponent he can face right now and I don't rate Murray or Soliman as better fighters.

I wouldn't call you a hater you asked a legitimate question. A lot of people want to see Golovkin face a A-level fighter to see how good he really is.

Really? Well there you go. But they will still discredit GGG no matter what. Anyone he fights suddenly becomes a bum.
