  • Can someone explain the point of Golovkin-Geale?

Fighting a guy coming off a loss to a domestic-level fighter. It's a lose/lose for Golovkin. I guess if keeps the hype train ticking-over, but someone needs to step this guy up to world level.

    Further hype building for Golovkin.

    A.K.A. a showcase fight.

    That is all.

Can someone explain the point of this thread? It's a lose/lose for this forum and the op. I guess it keeps the hate train ticking over but someone needs to step this poster to common sense.

Seriously: Which other topfighter would be ready to fight GGG in July? Geale is by far the best.

Dude cant get the fights at MW. Geale is a solid guy who has been in and around the top 10 for years.

He should move up imo. He already has a strap, and the lineal title he was hanging around for will bring him little praise now... though it would pad his bank account a little.

Go to SMW. Lets see him fight some real challenges

            Chavez fight fell through.

Geale is a top middleweight, former champ, possibly top 5 in the division but definitely top 7 or 8.

Murray, martinez, Sturm, Quillin ... none of them would fight him so...

it's not GGG's fault that these guys wouldn't fight him, so he has only 3 options after that.
            1. Sit on his hands and do nothing,
            2. Move up in weight,
            3. Fight the best available guy at 160.

            He chose option 3

Because nobody wants it!! It's sad really, it's a high risk low reward to fight GGG at this point!!!

Dude needs a good win, can't do that sitting at home or showing up to watch other people fight.
