Just do body weight exercises and max intensity and you'll be OK minus the joint issues.

I agree. But as I said, there are some very good new techniques in the strength and conditioning field that boxers have implemented and it's worked wonders

And I apologize in advance if you're just getting into lifting, and new to dead lifts.
Its one of the more dangerous lifts if you do not use proper form this is a fact as well as squats.

Also good mornings are dangerous too.

But deadlifts with Squats are the best mass builders for sure just majority of injuries come from the core exercises along with heavy bench press.

I actually have not. I do the old school weight lifting with a "normal" split. I'm not doubting the results of CrossFit, I've seen people's bodies' absolutely transform because of it, I just hate how they turn into Jehovah's Witnesses for Crossfit

That's true. If you just lift the bar off the ground and have no idea what you're doing, you will seriously mess your back up. I love squats, but I always get nervous on heavy days.

I stopped doing good mornings. I've come to realize that whether you use perfect form or not, mornings WILL mess your back up sooner or later.

I agree. Those lead to the most injuries, but if you have the form down on deads, it's smooth sailing. Squats, yes, anything can happen at any given time.

yup, bodyweight is the best, push ups, pull ups, dips lunges, air squats, I think in the long term for overall health and well being bodyweight is the safest.

You look strong still and muscular but avoid the joint problems and injuries many of the weight lifters and cross fitters get.

Also a lot of the best grapplers do mostly monkey bars, pull up bars, and ropes, and other bodyweight stuff or sand bag lifts.

Yeah it can get you results but I am also a heavy compound movement split routine guy and no way any of these toolbox hipsters are going to convince me to swap my split routine for crossfit.

LMFAO! Exactly!! I'm in to breaking down muscles by lifting weights in a controlled manner. I hate watching Crossfit videos of people doing momentum pull ups and horribly formed cleans and dead lifts

Crossfit is actually pretty decent. Will make you explosive in weak areas. Good for Robert

Yeah you gotta carefully when doing deadlifts, power cleans, or bent over rows of any kind. Could easy injure yourself with the slightest rocking or bend at the wrong point in a lift and not be able to walk for over week.
