Adding more can be counter productive, rest is important, its best to train effectively in a time efficient manner.

I just in general don't see the merits of cross fit doe...........

      I'm a traditionalist.

Most of the best modern advances are around recovery, nutrition and rehabilitation.

Olympic weight lifting techniques and kipping pull ups (whatever the hell that is) have no place in Boxing training.

I have even seen some cross-fit nut huggers combine combat pistol shooting with pull ups...

Which begs the question; when does anyone take a break in a gunfight for a set of pull ups?

          Crossfit is rather silly.

But the traditionalst method of boxing conditioning is outdated and not as efficient as modern methods such as strength training and interval sprints.

This. He's gonna mess around and snap something on his body doing cross fit before a fight.

I agree - funny thing is that a lot of traditional techniques in boxing training have been refined with sport science, just like training with medicine balls and sprints / hill training etc.

My point about cross fit is more about the sake of doing something completely unrelated to any particular sport just for the hell of it.

Cross fit is nothing more than extreme circuit training, mainly done by people who spend a lot of time in a tanning saloon and drinking soy lattes.

Boxrec ranks his opponent number 48 in the world so he is a cherry pick and a safe fight for Guerrero but also a meaningless win. Guerrero should be fighting guys that are in the top 20 in the world or higher. I am not saying boxrec rankings are perfect but they are pretty good. They rank all the fighters in the world in each weight class so a guy could be ranked number 400 or lower. When a guy I never heard of is fighting I go to boxrec to get an idea how good he is.

In my opinion, the reason I'm not in favor of new school techniques is because they're basically trying to re-invent the wheel. And to me, trying to re-invent the wheel is foolish. Everything has already been done.
