3m was a decent offer from Joe but did you expect him to take that when he was turning down a 60/40 fight with Jones where the combined purse would have been 20m?
So what are you saying? Hopkins turned down the fight. He also turned down Jones and Toney. He instead waited out his contract with Don King and fought bums until he brought Oscar up from a lower weight.

Yea, like your punches maybe. Or, maybe I'm just not dumb enough to get limey humor.

According to history, you know that invisible entity that cannot be deleted or altered no matter how much you try, Joe didn't sign a contract as you said he did. Furthermore, Hopkins did turn down fights at the time and it may have been to get more money later but it's not like he was inactive all the way from 2002 to 2005 when the Delahoya fight took place.

And what stopped Joe from coming to fight Roy Jones when the fight mattered from 1997-2003?

Yanks tend to have an irony defect in their brains. I doubt you even know what the term "tongue-in-cheek" means.

Yeah he fought bums instead of facing Calzaghe or Jones or Toney. Calzaghe agreed to the fight, Hopkins didn't. So back to your original point - Calzaghe did try to make the Hopkins fight when they were both in their primes. Bottom line. Glad I could educate you. You're welcome. Debate over.

Sure I do, it's basic sarcasm. That's half of Froch's total dialect being the huge knob that he is. Good thing he has money and a name because his bird beak and garbage personality didn't get him his old lady.

There was no debate in the first. It's back to things that happened in time that you cannot change. Joe stayed on that side of the 'pond' while ducking fights with Jones and Hopkins. Toney was probably not practical but you get the point.

Hopkins would have been an idiot to take Showtimes 3m to fight Joe, who had not even agreed to anything yet, when he was fighting guys like Morrade Hakkar on HBO for more money.

You must be mentally disabled if you think Hopkins was getting more money to fight Morrade Hakker. He made just over a million for that fight as opposed to the $3m he would have got for Calzaghe which would have been his highest ever purse. Do the maths, kid. I know it will be hard for you but try.

interesting debate, but can we stop over hyping this "prime jones" lark, the dude was a ped taking ****, completely overated. Joe Calzaghe would have smashed him to peices like he did in 2008....

Carl, is that you? Your sarcasm is so awesome. It makes you seem so much smarter that you look.

And, I will admit that I was thinking of the Daniels fight where he made more on HBO. Either way, that's quite a step away from making the same money fighting Calzaghe, who was a much greater threat.

That said, Joe didn't agree to anything yet and there's no way to know if he would have actually came over for the fight anyways.

Nuh uh uh. Roy never took ped's. It was a banned substance that was in over the counter ripped fuel at the time. Stop being a disrespectful b*tch to a legend.
