The one thing that will always be against him when it comes to the Calzaghe comparisons is that he had 2 close fights with Kessler. I thought he could have got the decision in the first fight but it was very close and could have gone either way. He won the second one clear but close.

Calzaghe completely outclassed a prime and undefeated Kessler at the peak of his powers to become the undisputed number 1 at Super Middleweight - something Carl has never been able to call himself as yet.
Correct , not will Froch ever be the champ. Joe unified and owned the division before he retired. That's something Froch could never do and will not have the chance to surpass Calzaghe, no matter what he does aside from beating Ward, which we know isn't happening. End of story.

That doesn't mean Joe accepted to come to America to fight. There was no contract signed for nothing. Hopkins rejected an initial offer. Don't you know he was going to get over twice that much to fight Roy Jones at the time?
It would have been ****** to take that fight on showtime. Joe really didn't want it anyways otherwise he would have come over before 2008 when Jones was a ghost and Hopkins MW reign was long over.
But he did. Showtime offered the fight and Calzaghe agreed. Hopkins agreed also but then came back and demanded double. What part of that don't you understand?

It would have been ****** to take his highest ever purse? It was much smarter to fight bums like Hakker and Daniels for less money. Great business acumen

We already established that Daniels was for the same money. Now why would he fight Joe for that when he was offered like 7 million to fight Jones? Your argument is weak. Joe came and actually fought in the US when it was convenient and Hopkins had more in the tank than he expected. He thought he was just hitting the senior tour and got knocked down twice. LOL

Tomato cans like Kessler and Bika?

Bit rich of you to completely discredit Calzaghe, disparage him as some sort of ducker while lauding a guy like Andre Ward for fighting everyone. The same Andre Ward who stated that the universally regarded number two fighter in his division had to go prove himself before he could get a fight with him.

Are you referring to Bernard Hopkins? A guy Froch wouldn't even contemplate fighting even at this point?

He turned down Jones too. He was turning down fights left right and centre for big money. So how is it Calzaghe's fault that the fight didn't happen?
